Again, logic and empiricism are not bounds. And I was trying to label an approach and attitude as dumb, not you

I am curious, but ignorant on 'mystic' and mysticism. Can one subsribe to mysticism and be a 'mystic' and still claim that they are agnostic?

I ask since my understanding of mysticism is a belief/faith in something beyond empiricism and logical reasoning and therefore beyond human perception and comprehension.
I think it's possible to be an agnostic mystic. My practice does not require any particular faith or belief in anything, just a willingness to follow odd little mental rabbit trails that may or may not be connected to reality. What I get out of it is subjective insights that inform my view of the outer world.

Like I said in my other post, spirituality for me is nature. I can get so enthralled in nature that I can literally forget that I even exist. I feel so connected it's like everything else just disappears and time stands still. To me, at least it's spiritual.

I don't see why being an agnostic, atheist, theist, deist etc, would matter. I think it's something that YOU experience.

I agree with you and I am turning to nature and humanity for spirituality. Sometimes I feel a connection and and awe beyond words. Sometimes I just feel like a 'cog in a machine'; that I belong to something 'greater than myself'. Perhaps, before I was equating that feeling to god and becoming confused. I do not have to equate it to god.

I think it does. Overall, different groups tend to view spirituality differently. Then there is even more discrepancy between individuals within those groups.

Currently, as an agnostic-deist I am going to cultivate my spirituality differently than atheists and theists.

P.S. I am happy that you are feeling better

I am back from the beach and a little red and sore, but I did have the best seared sushi grade tuna of my life and a god day.

During the day at the beach, I took a walk towards the far end of the beach where no one was. I sat there and sort of "meditated". I allowed my to be a human "being" and not a human "becoming". I felt a connection with the nature around me. Then I look down the shore line to all the people at the beach and I felt a connection to them. There where some moments of the day when I saw parents sharing joy with their children and I felt a connection to that joy. These feelings of connection felt "spiritual". This is my "spirituality".

I know I a "dabbling deist" and have been open about it. Then I thought about "god" and the many "god" models I have created (I use the term "god" loosely and for brevity). I came to the conclusion that "I really don't know and it is ok not to know."

Humanity = spirituality. To me it is the most important thing (spiritually speaking) to appreciate the human being and everything that has made it that way. It seems more spiritual to feel real emotion for your fellow man rather than out of obligation to a deity or spirit. If we realize we're all bound by a common planet and start doing good simply for the sake of doing good, this world would get a lot better in a hurry.

I'm not sure if it is Spiritual, but I like to Meditate because it helps me calm my mind and just brings me to a place wherever I want.....my own paradise. But then I have to stop but it leaves me with a good and positive feeling.
