Spoken like a true believer in the western god. The western god is a god of Exile. He is the guardian at the gates to the garden of eden. He is a representation of our fears and desires.
The exile even extends to this where people don't understand that it refers to powers within them. "it would have been someone else......" Adam means MANKIND and CONSCIOUSNESS.... It doesn't mean an individual person named adam.
The irony of the original question is that the western god exists as a product of choice and will of the human race. That's what the metaphor of eden speaks to. Our ability to discern the illusions of good and evil. The ability to make choices about our lives. The relevance of birth and death.
And the guardians to the gates of eden are placed there by the god of the west. Eventually, some people get it, and humanity is moving in the right direction. It's like the movie Fight Club where, at the end, the hero realized that he was holding the gun and the forces that were opressing him were within him.
The first post should be something like: "Given a choice, God exists."
