| Horror Stories Inspired by George being confused as an Aetheist and a couple of new people that had just registered here.
Have you ever been assaulted by some religious zealot? I think a lot of agnostics and aetheists here and probably a few religious folk to.
Here is one of mine: Quote: |
I'll give you a small story of my own personal experience (AMONG MANY TRUST ME) that caused me to stop fully arguing with religious people. I felt and feel bad even though it isn't really on me. This nice guy at a half-way house for the mentally incapacitated had found God through some Church I can't remember which. I didn't have a car and I needed a ride to work so he wanted to give me one. He was about to go out on his own, back into the real world, a fine example of psychiatry blended with meds and time to heal his fractured mind. Now I am a tall Aryan looking male. Blonde, blue-eyed, thin... German to boot. Hitler would have loved looking at me anyway. I guess I exude enough "innocense" that religious people feel this overwhelming need to try and convert me. Well this guy did. I mean he was out of the house in 2 weeks, it wasn't a sanitarium except for the drug abusers. He did his spiel about God and I did my best to hold back but if anyone who has ever been preyed upon by the religious right well the constant references that You as a person are inadequate gnaws on you. So I let loose but knowing who he was I was gentle... I told him he couldn't possibly know who or what Jesus was and that this and that was mysterious as absolute truth with the Bible. He dropped me off and two days later the man was dead. My buddy who hooked me up with the ride said he attacked a woman the day after and then in the morning of the second day he hanged himself.

| that's why An-gel story is exactly why I don't tell people what I believe when I meet them. If they are a religious soldier of God you have to watch every word you say .... now that isn't to say I've always been that smart. I enjoyed a one time shocking people and testing their faith ... now for the most part, what I believe is personal and I have no need to show anyone "the path" to enlightenment. There are some really strange people out there but you all know that.
My story is strange but at least the guy didn't hang himself .... I met this guy who swore I was his reincarnated lover/wife (now that I think of it this has happened to me twice) any way both guys swore I was their true love from a previous life. Neither one were certifiably nuts, one actually was a business owner and had a quasi normal life ... they both persisted in this for several years ..... when I went to El Paso, Tx for nursing school the first one hitch hiked all the way from Indy to Tx. I get a call and he's a block away ... he claimed he was Osirus or something like that and I was his to claim in this life again .... I just needed to meditate or something like that to remember the love we once had ...... uh yeah right buddy ... it stroked my ego to have him so devoted but it didn't take long for me to take him back to the interstate and point him east ..... I saw him about 15 years later and he still claimed the same old stuff .... I told him to catch me in the next life, I didn't want to be tied down in this one!! |

| Yep that is comparably weird. Usually I restrain myself but I was in an exceptionally foul mood that day after hearing his tripe over and over. I was pretty good the first time he told me... then the second time. I think I just broke up with a girlfriend cause she didn't like how much money I made at the time.
I tell you what I learned though... just because the shrinks say someone is ok doesn't mean by a long shot that they are. I helped a manic depressive fully realize through simple techniques I taught myself. He found his Catholic religion again and they made him feel all his same old inadequacies again.
Osiris the Egyptian God Deb?

| Osiris ... yep that's who it was .... he was a wild man ...wanted to worship me and stuff ... kind of kinky but too creepy for me. So this Osiris was it a male? or female? I don't know if I was suppose to be Osiris or Osiris's lover. I have been known to tell people to call me "Goddess" (tounge in cheek tho') they rarely do but the ones that do always laugh ...hmmmm ... wonder what that's all about? LOL |

| Osiris - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Quote: |
Osiris (Greek language, also Usiris; the Egyptian language name is variously transliterated Asar, Aser, Ausar, Wesir, or Ausare) is the Egyptian god of life, death, and fertility | Isis - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Quote: |
Isis is a goddess in Egyptian mythology. She was most prominent mythologically as the wife of Osiris and mother of Horus, and was worshipped as the archetypical wife and mother
| So your Isis in another life or as a Goddess you are now or the dude was just seriously using some bad lines to get you to get into your pants. Your choice there.

| lines An-jel..... No seriously dude ... these were not lines ... this went on for several years .... if he wanted in my pants surely he would have given up after a while and he sure as hell wouldn't have hitch hiked for Indpls to El Paso. I'm good but doubt if I'm that good .... no .... actually I am that good .. he just didn't have a chance in hell of getting any where with me but he was persistant I'll give him that!
Isis .... hmmm .... Goddess of Fertility .... no biological kids of my own so it will have to be the next life. I like the Goddess part .... I am an awesome Mom however (as she laughs and rolls on the floor!) |

| When a man refers to themselves as a God of Fertility even among other things well... who knows. Some dudes especially when a woman is listening (for whatever reason... even out of humoring him or even herself) they take it pretty seriously especially out of the whole Osiris thing methinks. Who knows I have almost heard as weird shite like that before. Jacklyn Smith and her dead grandfathers soul appearing in her son... almost the same thing. Maybe I am just jealous that you and he are Gods and I am not or something.

| duh? Dude, I was a total babe then! I was/am smart and this was not a line! No shite, he really thought I was this reincarnated ..... goddess or what ever ... I poo-pooed it and never fed into it ... I honestly argued with him about it ... he was adamant about it! Said I was in denial ... I never, ever bought into it! I saw him 10 years alter same stuff .... I still have these long letters he wrote me ... hell 8, 9, 10 pages of this stuff ... I found it amusing at the time ... now that it has happened a 2nd time .... maybe .... but I'd prefer to be "she who must be obeyed ... black leather and dominatrix kinda goddess |

| Wow yep while I imagine flattering, damnably bizarre!
Black Leather and Dom-type... wow I don't think Isis fits the bill there.
