They always have these neat little sayings on them like that one that you just mentioned... and often times they make you laugh. But often times they are correct in what they have written on them. |

| Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't God tell the Jews to kill the Cannanites and even to "smash the skulls of infants"? Quote:

| Yes, and to kill their animals as well. "Clear out the promised land," he said. "Every man, woman, child, and animal."
Judaism is a social group's religion like hinduism. The caste system developed in india because of their understanding of reincarnation. In the west, things like kosher eating and the sabath are identical concepts.
Moses asked god what to do about a guy who was picking up sticks on the sabath. God said to stone him to death.
It's a social glue for a people and it has served the hebrews very well. They are a unified ethnic group. If you try to look at yaweh as anything other than social glue for the hebrews, it gets REALLY ugly REALLY fast.

The old testament has been warped and twisted far beyond what it originaly was.

The old testament has been warped and twisted far beyond what it originaly was. | No. The torah is a social glue for an ethnic group (hebrews). It has not been warped. In the same way that the caste system and reincarnation drive the behaviors and bind the social group that are the hindus in india, Yaweh is the social glue for the israelites. And a very effective social glue at that.
Jesus did not come to abolish the old law, he came to complete it.
Jesus is a jewish folk expression of the same elementary idea that the buddha is a hindu expression of. Judaism and Hinduism are ethnic religions. Buddhism and Christianity are Creed religions.
The same book you say was "Replaced" is supposed to illustrate prophecies that fortell the coming of christ. Moses expressed the golden rule long before jesus did and their system worked well for them.
Does it work well in today's world? No. Globalization and telecommunications make it irrelevant to have these weird ethnic boundaries. The world has warped, not the text.
