I believe men and women should have equal rights but they are very different, i'm sure if a man got breast implants and took a stroll in the park with no shirt on, he will have the reactions that a woman would have, you cannot overlook the physical differences between men and women. You may say 'women go around naked in certain cultures' but those cultures also still hunt for their food rather than develop agriculture. Clothes are an indication of civilisation. The general rule is that societies who wear clothes are more civilised than those who don't. |
I like to make up words and string them together at random too!
I like boobs and I like women. Boobs are objects. Women as people are concepts. One can appreciate both.
It's been my experience that people in clothing optional communities are much healthier and more tolerant and generally more intelligent than other groups.

Are islamic cultures more civilized than christian cultures? Is America is more civilized than Europe?
Second, What do you mean by clothing is an indication of civilization? Are you confusing civilization with economical and technological progress?
Are cultures that wear little to no clothing un-civilized (e.g. savages)? When the early Americians colonized America were they being civil by almost completing genocide on Native Americans?

| Actually i was comparing nakedness to the wearing of clothes (whatever type of clothes these may be). I was not talking about economic development. uncivilized does not mean savage, it just means one is socially and culturally less advanced.

| I always thought clothes were to protect the persons body from the effects of the weather and the environment a person finds themselves in. Hate to have sticks and burs plunging into my feet or other sensitive areas. Keeps bugs off to!

2. SithLord, any good change brings the bad, and there are two sides to everything. Also, what is wrong with 50 something? I hope very little since I am going to be 49 in two weeks. :P | there you go duck!! you need to get your walker ready because you will be old on paper ... it wouldn't matter if you worked out or not .... too many young people believe that age has to be awful on the body ..... hey there are some 50+ women's breasts that decorate the pages of plenty of magazines. You want to talk about sagging.... uh guess what guys ... when you get older your "stuff" sags also. Just check out the guy walking down the hospital hallway with the back of his gown open ..... it's beauty in the eyes of the beholder. Women with broader hips were cherished in cultures because they were often more able to bear children than the narrow hipped girls .... so once again .... it just depends .... some guys like a lotta "junk in the trunk" some not .... different strokes folks ....
I think men should have to wear shirts also .... nothing worse than seeing man boobs on a flabby young guy either ... difference is they have little patches of hair ... ugh!
Nudity doesn't bother me. I chose to cover up at times and other times I choose to flaunt it ... depends on the circumstances .... it's all about acceptance ... you wouldn't mind seeing the rack of a 22 year old nubile young thing but the thought of your great grandma without a bra or shirt gives you the willies and makes you seek therapy ....
my son walked in on me, after I had taken a shower, a few years back, saw me naked and yelled "my eyes, my eyes, I'm gonna need therapy" (I swear her did) but ya' know what??? he never opens my door now without knocking. When he was bugging us a few Christmas' ago about what we were doing .... we were behind locked doors wrapping the little spy's Christmas presents .... he kept knocking on the door asking what we were doing, knocking and knocking .... I finally yelled out ... we're having sex leave us alone ... I hear a "you're gross Mom" and him running down the stairs .... same thing ... if the door is locked ...don't come knocking ..... at least that's the rules at our house .....
I know I got off the subject but what the heck .... people make nudity a bigger deal than is necessary. It's the same with wrapping up head to toe (sorry sister X) people make a big deal about that .... it's about choice and societal acceptance here .... in other countries it's a matter of life and death ...

I agree with you. I think there is a certain paranoia in our society. I am no hypocrite, if women the right, then it is all age brackets. Some I'd check out other I wouldn't....heck I even do this when they have clothes on. Just like some women check out some men's chest; some chest you like and others you don't. I agree, man boobs are not a pretty sight to see.
Has anyone ever seen the Seinfeild episode when George invents the "bro":the bra for men? I thought that was funny |

Maybe if nudity was mandatory then people would work on the physical looks and not let themselves go?

| What's more scary is the fact that we are more concerned with Janet Jackson's breast than we are with exposing our children to extreme violence. WTF. |
