An airplane malfunctions on a routine flight from New York to L.A. One man exits the plane with a parachute strapped to his back. When he pulls on the rip chord, the chute won't open. The man continues to pull on the rip chord and desperately begins praying to his God. He repeats this over and over again with no results. Frantically, he decides to appeal to other Gods other than his own.

"Buddha, please save me," he shouts!

Immediately, a giant hand appears under his feet and gently sets the man on the ground below.

"Thank God," he exclaims!

A giant thumb then comes down from the sky and squishes him.

The humor in the punchline is that the guy gets screwed for thanking the wrong God. It could have been any God.
