Default What did you do on memorial day?

Just being nosey

Wondering how everyone spent their memorial day.

My family and I had a small BBQ, watched movies and a few memorial/war shows. Beyond that we just enjoyed each other's company.

Cooked out, played with the kids in the sprinkler and basically did a lot of nothing.

Watched Band of Brothers, the last couple episodes and TiVo'ed the star wars legacy show on the history channel, just have to find a couple hours to get the TV from my wife so I can watch it.

Drac - I have a friggin Charter DVR so it constantly fills up. I'm gonna upgrade soon because before I didn't see what people saw in Tivos and DVR. Now I can't see how people live without it

jaej - Sucks dude. But hey the money won't make itself.

The An-Jel - I talked smack on Halo (gaming). I too am an Army vet so if anything it helps me appreciate what the troops and airmen are going through.

I have a Time warner DVR (Tivo everyone seems to understand what I am talking about). Its only 40 hours of HD, so I gotta be quick to watch stuff. My wife loves the dvr and records everything on hgtv, TLC, A&E and network soaps.

Since I bought a 42' plasma, without my wifes blessing (omg never do that), she has control of it. She loves it, more than me. I grew up in michigan and she wouldnt let me watch the tigers in the world series. I mean the world series, because trading spaces had a new episode on and rachel ray had a show on that she hadnt watched. So I had to watch in the basement on my 19' 20 year old tv, not life breaking but still crazy.

Hung out with my girlfriend, went to the gym for 2.5 hours, hung out with my family, watched The Town is Quiet. I think that's it.

Started packing for vacation .. going to Europe (5 countries) for three weeks. We've been told one suitcase and it can only weigh 45 lbs!!!! what the hell??? I need one suitcase for shoes alone!!! Since we are going from hot in Rome to snow in the Swiss alps .... packing is confusing. Oh and do you guys know that you cannot wear jeans in certain places? Also in many places in Rome you cannot have bare shoulders. It was suggest that I bring an empty suitcase and just buy as I go .... now that's a novel idea!!!

An-jel & George ... Army for me also! I thank the soldiers who are overseas taking care of business .... bless them all!

BTW ... any suggestions/tips for my trip, things to avoid, things to see? We start in London, chunnel to Paris, train to Switzerland, then on to Pisa, Florence, Rome and Vatican city. I might try and miss my plane home so I can stay longer! Thanks for any suggestions.

Deb, don't get converted to Catholicism while you're there!
