Clerks II is a lot funnier than clerks. At least, what I saw of clerks.

No dude I wasn't making fun of you .... I loved all the Mad Max movies, granted some more than others but still liked early Mel Gibson. As for Blazing Saddles .... you're right about the tongue in cheek humor and read between the lines stuff was/were great .... loved Madeline Kahn as the German whore but sophomoric humor is totally what it was when they were sitting around the camp fire "cheeking them off" ... sophomoric or toilet humor (as my Mom would call it) ... it was/is still a classic.

As for testosterone flicks .... chicks like 'em too! Gladiator, Braveheart .. I don't think Crowe is handsome but I did enjoy watching him run around in a tunic/toga, all glistening with sweat ... I think I made some monkey love noises watching it/him.

Your right dobdodd. There was plenty of juvinile humor in Blazing Saddles and I have to admit the "cheeking them off" bit makes me laugh. I guess my point is that Mel Brooks has a knack for defusing ill will with a crafty blend of high and low brow humor. Agree?

Aaron,

more than agree! Brooks is a genius! remember Marty Feldman? The guy with the unusual eyes? Gene Wilder has done some good stuff and early Steve Martin ... good stuff, loved the one with Kathleen Turner and Steve Martin where he was a brain surgeon. I like subtle humor like Brooks did in Saddles, where you have to "get it" opposed to just gross out humor .... I don't think Jack Ass is funny at all .... those guys are idiots .... or into pain ... I haven't figured out which. The one with the stapler and his .... well you know ... what the hell was he thinking? A whole new spin on a "prince albert" I guess.

I haven't seen Clerks but my son says to ask you to explain what "pillow pants" is/are? and something called interspecies erotica? He laughed and walked away .... Jeezzz do I even want to know .... yeah ... he won't let me explain what a pearl necklace is to him so this must be his revenge ....

I love Jesus Christ Superstar. I own the vhs and the soundtrack! I have even seen the musical with Sebastian Bach from Skid Row! I love that movie!

Ah..pillowpants is something called a pussytroll.
See, this girl's parents told her that when she was born, they put a troll in her pussy to prevent her from having sex. If she did, the troll would, uh, well lets just say that a certain part of the male anatomy would be severed. Supposedly she can pee it out on her 21st birthday. And the kid believes it.

Have you ever seen 40-year-old virgin? You know in the beginning when they talk about seeing the girl, uh, perform for a horse? Use your imagination. Voila, interspecies erotica.

Hope I don't get banned for that post lol.

Nah, you shouldn't get banned .... thanks for the info ... Alex loves all these movies with sexual innuendos but if I try talking to him he gets really embarrassed .... He loves South Park, Family Guy, etc. but if I make a dirty crack about something .... i.e. the pearl necklace, he freaks and tells me I'm gross ... I like watching him squirm like that .... for being my son, he's a little on the prude side!

So the girl had a Lorenna Bobbitt in there?!

Hell you can see interspecies erotica in Mexico any time ... it's called a "donkey show" there. Thanks but I'll pass .....
