I do rescues of stray and abandoned cats....currently there are 8, including a deaf one, and another with 3 legs. The only people interested in the 3 legged cat had a little girl that called him "icky", and the deaf cat is part of a pair, with the other acting as her ears..and no one seems to want two. And my sister's dog, a black lab/something mix, moved in with me as well when they moved to an apartment.

I have two cats - Izadorable aka "Izzy" and her enormous son, "Baby". We also live with a tortoise named "Ami". We used to have a Basset Hound named "Pansy", but she died a few years ago.

I have a golden retriever that has literally destroyed almost every piece of furniture in our house. Currently I am trying to get blue ink off his fur from chewing a pen he stole from my purse- but we love him dearly.

I'm training them to swoop and take food from my hand, hopefully they'll start doing it with tourists, divebombing them to snatch icecreams and burgers from them to send them ballistic..

Default Comforting

There are some comforting verses in the Bible that show God doesn't forget animals -
"God.. in whose hand is the soul of every living thing" (Job12:10 KJV)
Jesus said:-"God won't forget the death of a sparrow" (Matt 10:29)
To comfort a child (and ourselves) when grieving for a dead pet, it might be a good idea to tell them that even though we regard pets as belonging to us, they really belong to God, its as if he lets us look after them for a little while and then calls them back to him because he misses them so much..
God said - "Every animal of the forest is mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills.I know every bird in the mountains, and the creatures of the field are mine, for the world is mine, and all that is in it" (Psalm 50 10-12)

I have always believed we have a moralist responsibility to animals and God protects and requires us to care for an protect all his creatures.

I have a little Chihuahua named Stuff. Crazy little dog we adopted from a guy that died. He took to me immediately and wouldn't leave me alone. I tried cause my roommate loves Chihuahuas. I pushed him away short of beating the thing but he loves me so... he's mine... sheesh... I don't even like Chihuahua's.

Awww, An-Jel.. that little yappy dog was meant to be yours!

We have 4 cats. Three are pedigreed "Ragdolls" (Loki, Melody and Zeus) and one is a rescue named Abbie. They are a "pride" that is for sure! They make life interesting around here. They love to steal ornaments off of the tree.
