Okay, I get what you are saying but man is not perfect and those guys who went thru all the gospels for our current Bible did not include all of the important gospels .... it was a politically motivated, picked over and changed to suit the current King and Pope..... none of us knows "all" of Jesus' words .. why is it so difficult for you to believe that these flawed men might have added or deleted certain things? Please read the history of that time and you will see that the current bible is not complete. There were some good men on that council but there were some that were self serving .... once you research it I think you will have a clearer vision of why some people find it difficult to take everything in the Bible as directly from the mouth of God.

Thats easy! According to you the Bible explains it all! Well? I mean if I were a God I think I would want to explain to my children and my followers (HATE HATE THAT WORD!) exactly what their place is. If some dude is expected to be worshipped or followed they should make it ABUNDANTLY CLEAR FROM THE GET GO where someone stands. As I followed the basic teachings and praise that I could stand from the limited experience I have had with church people of ALL DENOMINATIONS I have come in contact with I found most people at odds with each other and usually lost in their particular denomination especially when they came in contact with other peoples. I mean most single GIDy that people believe in is the same God and yet they hate each other. So either God doesn't make any sense or he is purposely obsfucating us or the people who interpretted God are wrong or the whole thing just doesn't make sense. Guess which I think is by far the more practical?

You use a self referential basis for your claim. It's true because it says its true. If I write a book that says:

1) The bible is false
2) my book is true

Does that mean that the bible is false? Of course not.

So, the bible saying that itself is true is no basis for Faith. It was written by man. That it says (internally) that it was directed by God, is no basis to believe that it is actually directed by God.

How can you not get this, Faith?

Hebrews 11 is often refferd to as the faith chapter. And again, I will point out to you, we don't have faith.

Why is it some people think they can lead others to a religious experience? I've always wondered that....

you know some guys use that as a come on line ..... The only religious experience they plan on is getting the two of you worked up into a sexual frenzy, screaming "Oh God, Oh God.

There are some native Americans who believe they can give you a religious experience thru native American ways ... mescaline, peyote.

What kind of religious experience were they planning for you? Stay away from the "Jim Jones" nuts .... and never drink the kool aid they serve. LOL
