I listen to whatever music suits my mood. My collection has classical, big band, The Rolling Stones, The Mamas and the Papas and everything in between. I'm not keen on today's country music; the older stuff is much better, more genuine than today's cookie-cutter stuff. I basically like all kinds of music.

Right now I'm listening to a lot of classical music. It's very relaxing and soothing and calming and just plain nice. I play a bit of Pavarotti too once in a while because his voice is just so beautiful.

I also have collected alot of cds over the years, lots of floyd, rush, zeppelin, blues, classical, etc. These days when I put on a cd, it's probably zappa, jean michel jarre, neil young, gershwin, khatcheturian, janis, or...well, depends on my mood...

Indie Rock is what i like, its happy and opstimistic, pretty much the anti-emo music.

I mostly listen to Americana, alt-country/folk/acoustic rock with a little bluegrass, zydeco & reggae thrown in for spice.

Steve Earle, Todd Snider, Guy Clark, the Avett Brothers.

Been really jamming to Springsteen's Seeger Sessions lately.

Has anyone else listened to the lyrics to "Childish Things" by James McMurtry?

aunt clara kept her bible right next to the phone
in case she needed a quote while she talked to someone
in my memory she smiles while the blessings said
and visions of freeze tag dance in my head
she says I'll grow up big if I eat all my roast
that I'll still believe in heaven but I wont believe in ghosts anymore

I'll put away childish things, I'll put away childish things

every other weekend, age of thirteen
with my fishing pole and my feelings string
riding back home on the trailways bus
I looked out the window till I saw too much
and I called my parents by their own first names
I played in the alley but I didnt play the game anymore

I put away childish things, I put away childish things

the wolves howl all night long
they wont stop and they wont go home
beneath my window they run
probably it'll be alright
if I keep it all locked up tight
and wait till daylight comes

now my boy goes like a house on fire
he'll never burn out and he'll never retire
and I remember when I used to think like that
when I was young and the world was flat
but I'm forty some years old now and man i dont care
all i wont now is just a comfortable chair
and to sell all my stock and live on the coast
I dont believe in heaven but I still believe in ghosts

I've put away childish things, I've put away childish things
I've put away childish things, I've put away childish things

the wolves howl all night long
they wont stop and they wont go home
beneath my window they run
probably it'll be alright
if I keep it all locked up tight
and wait till daylight comes
if I wait till daylight comes

Default Hello

I am from the older growed. I like the old time rock and roll. And I all so like the oldies but goodies. That is what I enjoy listening too.
