Tell us what you're working on, ask for or share advice. | Too soon to say...but..I think it would be kewl to write childrens books, something like that. But not in the usual context, look up Ellen Hopkins for example. It's kind of like poetry, just thought it was interesting.

| when my computer was in my room, i was working on a story taking place in a fantasy world, elves orcs other non-orginal archytypes, one of the characters was from parrale universe, magic was explained as a fundamental thing that all has access to, but some are less tuned to hold the flowing of that "energy" in their hands to do anything with ext. deep history, cult of the sun, captureing magic so it doesn't transfer and move naturally as something the main evil people do ext. its not finished, i was just writing the outline also.

Sounds interesting.

| Now playing: - Editing two of my three NaNoWriMo novels, and planning to send the first one to a publisher in the near future.
- Trying to psyche myself up to finish my 2006 NaNo novel, a winner at 50,000+ words but still in first draft and stalled just short of the final crisis/climax/dénouement. (I have managed to get the Babylonian goddess out of the karaoke bar and on Her way back to the hotel...)
- Proofreading a science fiction manuscript for a friend from my Thursday night writing group.
- Just finished a stage play, going to ask around town and see if I can get it produced at the local theater festival.
- Blogging at least once a week.
- Writing occasional essays for a website.
And I am surrounded by paper, pens, flash drives, back-up CDs and Post-it notes... |

| As for myself .... I just love to write .... poems, thoughts, journals .... I like words and the power of words .... yes I am writing a novel ... young adult fiction but am far to critical of myself to ever let anyone read it under my name I have a non de plume web site about it .... maybe some day I will be brave enough to let someone read it.
I joined Midwest writer's out of the English Dept. at Ball State University ... they do workshops, etc. The best advice they gave aspiring writers is to get thick skin .... I'm working on that then perhaps I will share .... now is not the time but I will gladly read anything that someone else wants me to .... Joudou, you won't even need to send me an apple .... I'll read it but don't expect any help with grammar or punctuation ....

| hah, you got it Deb. As soon as I transfer everything from my lame old computer to CD.
Over the years I have dabbled in many types of writing. When it comes to poetry I never exactly used a specific form or structure, I just wrote. I did the whole Poetry.com thing, by which I mean I submitted poems and then never ever gave them a single cent.
I keep a book of things that I don't like to call a journal because they really aren't diary entries, simply me writing on whatever topic comes to mind.
Then we have the novel I am working on, which was originally concieved as a storyline for a video game(I wanted to go to school for designing games). My mom loves what she has read so far but I can't count my mom as a non-biased critic. Chapter three did make both her and my sister cry though lol.
What I am finding difficult is in creating a world from nothingness, and putting into that world their own unique history and things like magic, science, religion, governments, it is hard to explain everything in the detail that I understand it in my own mind. Much like a painter who cannot get the picture on paper to match as clearly and vividly as what he sees in his head.
I'll write up chapter three on here(which is safe because it only tells a part of the world's history and doesn't reflect any of the main story line aside from where a long standing fued started :P) and maybe some of my poetry as well.
