Default Usernames...a deeper meaning?

Hi all! I hope this isn't a taboo subject (and if it is, this is probably the right forum to confront it!!), but I find the diversity in people's usernames on forums to be really interesting and worthy of further discussion.

My own is the name of a character from the book Neverness by David Zindell (Danlo Ringess). He's a fascinating individual that melds the metaphysical with the spiritual. Reading Neverness for the first time as a 17yo just blew my mind away and opened me up to the possibilities and joys of philosophy.

How about you?

D.

Geshtinnanna is the name of a Sumerian Goddess of Desolation. She was also the scriber for hell. And since I suffer from depression and am a writer, it just seemed to fit.

GX
Nothing special here. I couldnt think of something off the top of my head so I initially just wanted to use the initial of my first name which is "G" but when signing up it said I needed at least 2 characters for my screenname and the letter "X" immediately popped into my mind. Hence GX...

Mine is a slightly altered name from Tolkiens Lost Tales.

I use it with gaming as well.

Mine is a combination of my first and last names. With a 1 thrown on, nothing too deep or creative really.
