That is why I like you.
My need of the flesh is 165 mph on a CBR900RR with enough cars on the road that I have to drive it. With my brother of course, he is the only other person I know that thinks it is fun to race like that.
You talk about being in the NOW.
My first born put an end to that tho.
Dern kids, now I have to worry about dieing. They ruin everything. |

| First of all, I'd like to brag about my charming wife who hails from Cape Breton. We've been together for ten years; married for two. She is the one who encouraged me to participate in this forum. Blame her.
I've recently decided to seriously try breaking a long-time smoking habit. I know from having made previous attempts that this will cause me a lot of anxiety. Therefore, I've also decided to quit posting for a while. I don't want my anxiety to cause me to write foolish remarks. Some would argue that it's too late for that.
In any event, I'd just like to end by praising this gem of a forum. It offers people a golden opportunity to exercise one's freedom of speech concerning religion, politics, etc. Thanks to the forum for allowing me this priviledge as well.

| Well I'm 19 years old, in Nursing school....Live with my mom still...basically in most peoples eyes I'm still a child but I guess that comes with the territory. As a said in a few of my other posts some of my closest friends (20-21) are devout baptists...but what else do u expect 5 mins away from WV and PA... I see the things they do and the words they speak and I love them so but...that little monster we call doubt arises and well I'm here.. This is a great place to express thoughts that I did not expect..Thank You

| Engaged, in a same-sex relationship. No kids, don't plan on it. [Never liked the thought of having a child, much less one by artificial insemination.] I live in the US, but would very much like to move to Europe or London, something of that sort. In 20 years, I'd like to have written my own book.
Also, my hobbies include writing and body modification.

| 31 yrs old (mentality of an immature teenager most of the time though!!). Married for 8 years. No kids and don't plan on having any. One manic German Shepherd fills that part of our lives quite comfortably (and then some!!). Electrical Engineer, working for the local transmission company. Love travelling (Vietnam here we come!), trying new foods, reading (particularly fantasy and sci-fi), any music that lifts the soul, and football (as in soccer!).

| 21 years old, in a really really long distance relationship as in her being right under my feet aka on the other side of the world.
I still live at home with my parents, my twin brother(no we do not look like each other), my smaller sister she's 17 and my litle brother he's 8 soon to be 9.
no pets, though we had a bunny once but a stray cat ate it, I couldn't really be bothered with it anyway, though I shot the cat.
in 20 years hmm with my love, having traveled teh world and the moon and on our way to outer space in a heart shaped space ship,(yeah I'm in love)
right now? missing her like hell.

I'm about 9 years older than you, but it doesn't feel like high school was as many years ago. That was when I first started really thinking about religion and the "deep philosophical questions". I grew up in Iowa, and most everyone there is a pretty conservative christian, which made it tough. I almost always found myself as the target of proselytization which made me really hate religion.
Over time, I realized that I wasn't the only person who thought like I did, which was helpful. I still don't like religion, but talking with diverse yet like-minded people has given me several new perspectives on the idea.
I hope this forum can help give you new things to think about, and I look forward to reading about what you think as you post here.
