I came here to learn. To learn what? Im not sure. I just felt I needed to know more about how I felt and tought about religion, life and other things.
It is hard to explain, but I was confused. When I realized I was not like everyone else around me and that I needed to get some answers and to go further in religion matters, I felt I was alone and started looking for info and thats when I found the term Agnostic and it described exactly how I felt.
In the search for more info I found this place and I keep coming here cuz I feel I can be myself and say what I really think without being judged.

The answer to this question probably changes with my mood but the reasons that come to mind right now are:

When I try to explain agnosticism to people to try and clear up their misconceptions about us it would be helpful to know more about what other agnostics believe. While agnosticism just seems obvious to me I recognize that other agnostics may believe differently than I do on many issues. This seems to be a good place to learn about the variety of things agnostics believe.

I am surrounded by people who just expect that I'm a good Christian. Its nice to get away from that expectation for awhile.

I'm here for a bit of interaction with people who might have a broader perspective on life than the religious folk I've spent most of my life with. I'm new to the forum and don't have a lot of time to dedicate to it, but I've enjoyed the little bit of exposure I've had so far. It also provides me with an arena for "coming out of the closet", for letting others know who I am, even if only under a pseudonym. After 40+ years in the Christian ministry, by far the majority of my friends and acquaintances are Christians. I'm not hiding my agnostic beliefs, but neither am I looking to unnecessarily scandalize or hurt my friends. So, I don't talk on these subjects with them. I need a compatible context and this forum provides one, both for input and for expression. Thanks!

I joined to explore agnostic philosophy under the false impression that agnostics were more intelligent than atheists which was a concept formed by reading irrational descriptions of the terms agnostic and atheist which to this day, are available almost everywhere....

My "accomplishments" include forming the belief that discourse about anything metaphysical is worthless. I know consider myself an apathetic agnostic.

I'm still here for some interesting discussion not God-related.

True, to know oneself is the highest, maybe through all the time, one would know enough to consider un-knowing, that's what i think is the biggest sign of learning
