I wonder if this can happen with bong resin.....?
oops, that wasn't necessary....my bad.
No George buddy, it is not far fetched at all...there are wild theories and working hypothesis out there that make even less sense than inorganic substances behaving llike organic substances.
I do not think that debunking the idea of a "creator" fits here though...something got everything going - even if it has no physical characteristics (warning!: chapter29 does not have any clue as to what started it all - but wants to throw in his opinion anyways...).
So, when our most beloved George comments that life did not need a creator to 'arrive', where does the intellectual patent on life become null and void...? I feel that it has nothing to do with a biblical creator, but to say that it just 'happened' does not cut it either (I know you did not say this George, just clarifying).
Maybe the creator of it all had no idea that life would generate from inorganic substances, but knew that it was likely or never even gave it thought. Yet, with all these miraculous things taking place daily in our universe (list too long to type), is it so hard to accept that life (our websters definition may be wrong here) evolves from "many" different complex scenarios?
To take this one step further, imagine this: true nano technology arrives, super structures are created through 1' x 1' boxes filled with motivated nano machines, nano machines go on strike due to wage issues (this is where they demonstrate self awareness), nano machines demonstrate a high level of intelligence (during wage negotiations), nano technology f's up the majority of organic substances on the planet (keeping only what they need, just as a core entity should) and establishes a new hegemony in the universe...wonder what entities such as that can cook up on the grill of life...?
I would bet my bottom dollar that life is created from many unorthodox recipes, and may prove to be more suitable to our known enviroment than the current inhabitants.
Good article Will, now we have to wait for them to try and duplicate it on a dish; or on the top of a good chardonnay...
