Both capital and corporal punishment should be brought back in the UK, its a bloody brilliant idea. There are people out there capable of terrible things, if the only way to stop them reoffending is to kill them, by all means do it.

We pay tax to keep murderers, rapists, child-molesters etc fed and clothed...and as soon as they are set free they attack the very people who have been giving money to keep them fed and clothed while they were in jail!

The only valid argument against it is that our system is too flawed.
I am against it because of this reason. Rich men go free, poor man pays the price.

In an ideal set up it wouldnt be so currupt. Justice must be done, if people have to die to achieve that, be they poor, rich, or the Queen of England, they must pay the price

Here's the irony:

For thousands of years where evidence was hard to come by and proving somebody was guilty or innocent was as good as one person willing to " testify ".

Now our system has improved tremendously, specially since DNA evidence came into play, and our system is too flawed??

I'll take my chances thank you.

What should we do about people like O.J. then? Do you think he would still be a free man If he did'nt have money?

First off I think the O.J. case was obviously true in the sense that he himeself did not commit the murder. He more likely hired an assassin.

Now I'm one of those people that does not believe in equality and that every individual is judged by their net worth, whether that be by finances alone or stature in society, moderately wealthy people have walked free because of their connections etc

If money can't buy you freedom from the law, then what's the point of attempting to achieve high wealth, or high stature in power, that's certainly why I have my head deep in politics.

Seriously though, our justiuce system, though still very much flawed, is thousands times better than 500 years ago.

Much of the U.S. is still ruled by racial tensions. Not to mention the hardcore religious regions.
