Obviously support for President George W. Bush is low these days. Many are saying he is the worst president of all time, etc.

How do you think he and his administration will go down in history? Will history perceive the administration's actions as we do today? Or do you think there may be more respect for him in the future?

It really depends on how Iraq turns out and that won't be contingent on his administration because he refuses to do what it takes to get out with a stable Iraq (on Middle Eastern terms mind you) economically America is supposed to be thriving but that is because of the war to apparently. There sure aren't a lot of jobs being created in industry. When the Democrats won last year it pretty much assured he was going to be a lame duck president. His claim to domestic fame was the Amnesty program for illegal aliens and that failed. The Patriot Act and Patriot Act 2 are causing more questions than solving problems... remember the guy who evaded security after Homeland Security put out an alert for him. I forget the disease he had at the moment. He gets a flight to Quebec passes through Vermont and checks himself into a hospital. Oh yeah he had TB. No border security for Mexico after 911 then the Administration wants to sell Port security to a Dubai company. Essentially President Bush got a lot of companies rich while selling the American people in general out. I see History as not being to kind to him especially with Osama bin Laden still on the run.

Excellent points.

Personally, I can't stand his stance on immigration. There's over 12 million illegal aliens who are basically being handed a free pass to citizenship, while the people who are trying to come here legally are the losers in this fiasco. It's not right. But the problem is, what would we do with the millions of illegal immigrants? We would never be able to deport them all back to Mexico (or wherever they may be from). And some of them have U.S. born children. Morals seem to come into play with this issue as well.

no easy fix to the immigration process .... perhaps send their kids back with them? What happened to the days when you moved here you had to learn the language to survive? America has turned into one big bleeding heart where we think we have to take care of everyone .... I say we concentrate on "us". Sounds harsh but I am sick of looking at my paychecks and seeing how much Uncle Sam is taking out in taxes and I have no choice in where the money is spent. If you ain't legal ... your ass is outta here ... go to Canada or better yet, France and Britain ... seems like there are a lot of citizens there that think the US is a terrible place with horrible policy ... ship them over to moorehurst house ...

We do the same thing ... when I was working private practice we had to pay interpreters $50 an hour, with a minimum 2 hours payment, to come and translate every time we had a patient that couldn't speak English ... the insurance didn't pay it, it came off our income ... it ended up that we were paying more to see non English speaking patients than insurance was reimbursing us ... They all get on welfare, food stamps, take minimum wage jobs away from high school kids that are saving for college ....

okay so it's agreed we will get all of our immigrants rounded up, you get the QE2 ready, we'll get them on the boat and you guys can have them .... only one teeny, teeny problem .... Hispanics are 90% catholic so the church of England and the mosques will have to give up space for the pope's pedophiles to come into Britain for their mega churches ..... once all the catholic priest get there tho' lock up your young boys or you'll end up having a sexual predator list like we do .... but hey, you are welcome to them!!!

What a sorry state of affairs it is when the original rainbow nation, the United States of America decides it doesn't want foreign people living in their country any more. Bush has been President for over six years and he finally comes up with a sensible idea...instead of spending billions chucking out the people who sweep the floors in your local Chinese restaurant why not let them stay there and continue to sweep the floors?

But no. They have to go.

Well, I'm here to tell you it's not all that bad. In my part of London genuine English born English people number about one in ten. In my street alone there are Poles, Italians, Americans, people from Ghana and Jamaica. My doctor is Mexican, my vet is from New Zealand (well, he's not my vet, obviously he works on my cats) and I don't know where my dentist is from because I'm too busy screaming but I know he's not English.

They are there legally ... that's the difference ... let them get legalized just like my refugee on my family tree ... pay taxes ... then they can stay .. but do it right ... don't sneak in like a thief in the night and steal from the rest of us ... there is a process on immigration follow it or don't plan on being accepted by the rest of us. We are a land that accepts immigrants still ... we just want them to be legal ... nothing wrong with that!
