It's hard to call America democratic in the first place. Democracy is where every citizens vote is equal to elect the future leader. This is not ture for the U.S., however. f you vote in California as opposed to West Virginia, your vote will count much more than it would in W.V. If we were truly democratic, Al Gore would have won the first term, not that he is better. And there are the theories that Bush's brother Jeb rigged the election for him.

In some ways it is a shame assassination attempts have fallen out of fashion in the US (in Britain we haven't had a successful one since 1812, although loads of people tried to kill Queen Victoria for some reason). They undoubtedly make life more interesting. I remember the attempt on Reagan for example. And Gerald Ford was hardly able to go out to buy a coffee without someone taking a pot shot at him.

Where are the John Hinckleys of the twenty first century?

Bush is a moron who used his power to send thousands of US citizens to their death just because he wanted revenge on Saddam and his family for trying to assassinate Bush senior.

If the deaths of thousands of US citizens doesn't warrant a death penalty I don't know what does.

I wouldn't do it because I'm not a murderer and dont want blood on my hands. But I wouldn't be mad if someone did.

There... I just said what all of you are really thinking.

Well, Bush has been attempted to be assassinated before by a grenade. That was back in his first term, however.

Now Guy Fawkes was ambitious...not for him the minor aim of killing the head of state...he wanted to kill the head of state, two houses of Parliament and the clergy...

Not a big suporter of Bush lately - I admit I was in the beginning. However, he was re-elected to lead this country for another term. No matter how poor his decisions may be, he is doing his job (I didn't say well). His assassination would anger me very much and throw this country into turmoil that would make the current situation look like Mr. Rogers neighborhood.

Now hold on ... I'm not going to get into whether or not the war is justified or the reasons why we went to war.

I must say this - the people serving in Iraq are not citizens of this country (there is no disrepect in this statement). They are soldiers sworn to serve this country and, as such, gave up thier citezenship when they took that oath.

There is no draft in this country. Everyone over there is there on thier own volition. It is common sense that if you choose to join the service, you may go to war. That our soldiers are over there because of poor desisions doesn't change this fact.

Common sense tells you that the people who volunteered to go into Iraq after 9-11 were given a false pretense. They wouldn't be there otherwise. It wasn't a poor decision it was a flat out LIE!
