It's called by the Office by the Iraqi's it is some place where the Shiite majority is attempting to oust the other two cultures and it is being accepted by the American government. It was suggested earlier by some American Government authorities that this might be a quasi-possible way to attain stability throughout the country. I think thats when the rest of the region started supporting the Sunni's. The Kurds are barely in the news so I don't know whats up with that other than a car bomb that hit some public office about a couple weeks ago.

This whole situation is not going to turn out pretty at all.

all that stuff about image seems pretty accurate. how would the U.S look if they marched in, set up some half assed democratic government, left, and it collapsed on itself, tsk tsk, bush bit off more than he could chew. But it must have been the money to begin with surely, ur right An-Jel, there are plenty of African nations with worse dictators than Saddam and they're being left alone. Plus if it was just about the "wmd's" wouldn't they have tried to invade north korea again by now (seeing as bush isnt good at learning from his predecessors mistakes)

Bush couldn't handle starting a third war. We would riot against him, Congress would never approve it, and nobody would go. Even if it was a necessary war. Otherwise, he probably would.

There was no reason to go into Iraq. This is what made the world hate us. There could only be two reasons to go into Iraq: Oil (Germany and France had a deal with Saddam and we had sanctions against the country since the first Gulf War) and his disappointment with his father not going into Baghdad (not to mention the hit Saddam put on his father and from what I heard but never saw the big face of George Sr they painted on the floor of the palace to step on. Ultimate insult in Arab Country's I guess.) If Bush would have stayed with hunting Osama bin Laden instead of a personal agenda and ignoring world opinion (World Economy!) he would have the ability to start another legitimate war front say: Iran or N Norea!

You forgot about Texas Tea so you'd have a Rhyme and you could change your name to MC Lister or Ice Lister.

These are the people that our alliance is fighting and dying for, to defend their freedom to do stuff like this?? And this isn't insurgents or terrorists, this was the girls family!!

I'm about an inch away from the opinion that we should just plow Iraq under, pave it, and give it to Iran as a parking lot

And WARNING, this clip is of the act itself, it is very graphic and disturbing..

That is disgusting. I just don't understand that part of their culture.

I do unfortunately. All about the control... its medeival but hey so is Arab culture and they want to keep it that way. I mean I ain't no expert (hence my English... grinnin) but I tells you what: I saw what was going to happen in Iraq when the first Bush was about to invade. Direct assault on Arab nations does nothing unless you bury the whole region. They been fighting for thousands of years... if not wars then tribal and other conflicts... it was just absolutely lame to move into that country. Even the first Bush knew that and decided against it in order to save his Presidency.

I was in Morocco a few months ago, and yes, I know it's not Iraq, but they were still Arab. Their culture was beautiful, I thought. They were welcoming, and amazing. And while I would never want to live there for very long, it's mainly for material (and sanitary) reasons. Things we might initially consider signs of ignorance or opression actually have good reasons behind them. Like, as we were walking through alleyways, I noticed that every single window was caged, barred, boarded, miniscule, just pretty much useless. And this was if there was a window at all. Initially, it just looks like, I don't know, poverty-ravaged, oppressed slums. But the reason there aren't any windows are because they want everyone to be equal from the outside. Everyone dresses the same, and you never know a man's wealth until you are invited into his home. Everyone is equal. It's an interesting way to approach that. And while I still prefer my open windows with sunlight streaming in and my green lawn which I can mow in shorts and a halter top, they have an excellent point.
I find it difficult to reconcile the difference between the beauty of their culture and the horrors. I guess they could say the same about us. I just really don't get how adults can allow the problems over their to persist. I mean, I know some people that hate Bush. Truly hate him. And, honestly, I know some people that hate different races or religions. But they don't go suicide bombing everyday. And even though we have the KKK, it is not widely approved, and the government controls it to the best of it's ability. I don't get how no one over there, after thousands of years, has stepped up and said, "Enough!" and had a massive following. How can the violence last that long?

And therein lies proof of my young naivety.
