Boy, you're just itching to blame stuff on the government, aren't you?

As lc said, those buildings were not designed to withstand a plane flying into them. And one stood for almost an hour and a half, and the other almost an hour, before they collapsed. And Bush just made up some evidence? Are you being serious?

mmk... again this isn't what i wanted the thread to be about but i guess ill just roll with it then...

jaej.. of course i blame the government for that... you cannot tell me that after hearing that the FBI has illegally tapped phone calls made you are just fine with that.. and when all our securitys and surveillance increase you will just be fine about how its ok because we have to be weary of the terrorists.. and where did i say that bush made up evidence anywhere u even quoted me... i said that he did not allow anybody but FASA to investigate.. no cia, no independent investigation or nothing... why would this not strike as odd to you i dont know.. you are looking only at the surface.. dig in

and nobody commented again how building 7 came down... if that can be reasonably explained please by all means prove me wrong for this is the one that really gets me..

9-11 video THE INEXPLICABLE COLLAPSE OF WTC7 - Google Video see for yourself and please explain

Actually they were meant to stand the impact of a plane colliding into them if by accident or by purpose. And they did! They just couldn't handle the jet fuel being used today that melted the inner structure of the towers and caused them to collapse. I've seen that video you gave a link to. They say building 7 was destroyed much like demolitions crews do it. I don't have a problem with all this really being done by the planes. I could careless about the process. What has me suspect and compare the lame bombing of the WTC in '93 and what happened in '01. The 9/11 speaks for itself but the resulting politics are sickening beyond compare and leave the whole event of that day suspect in my book. The Patriot Act and Patriot Act2, Iraq, Guantanemo Bay, Osama still missing, CIA secreting away of people, the Axis of Evil, the facist partisan way this country is being run,... it is all suspect. Much like the hostages in Iran being freed in such a timely fashion for Reagan to take over then years later the Iran-Contra Affair and the conflicts in that. All on a similiar par but far more sinister and infinitely more generic and insolent. I feel like a sap everytime I listen to the Bush Administration talk.

I think the administrations are just responding, however poorly, to the situations at hand. Just because Bush wants to deal with the Middle East and then 9/11 happens doesn't mean he had anything to do with it. Things happen. The hijackers were planning this for ages.

Well it's agreed I am sure that the President and the Administration themselves are not the brightest people in the world and they are totally into themselves. Definitely not a government for the people even though it was "by the people". Would you say that the President has been living in fear, by your statement above, more than the American people lauraclay?

Living in fear more than an entire population? I don't know. Maybe more than certain individuals. Or equal fear. But not only does he have the fear, he has the responsibility to do the right thing, and the pressure from several million people to do what each of them thinks is the right thing. I am NOT defending his actions, I'm just saying, I don't think Bush is exactly plotting anything. The man can't even read a speech. He doesn't have to write them remember, just read them. I don't think he was 'behind' 9/11.

As with any Presidential Administration he has a cabinet made up of people who have political and economic interests in contemporary society. I think when a lot of people say Bush (especially like me) I think of the Administration as a whole. Making up and obsfucating data to attack Iraq... I agree that the guy neither has the stones or brains on his own to perpetrate such an elaborate hoax to attack the country. Bush the man isn't totally stupid, I saw him speak very effectively and impressively as Govonor but it is clear that the man is WAY WAY over his head as President. 9-11 deflated so many ego's and I can't imagine what it must be like to be leader of the free world and have four planes hijacked, three of which crashed into prominent internationally known buildings (of no real strategic consequence, I include the Pentagon because of the place where it was struck) causing two of the buildings (figuratively) to collapse and the resulting deaths of better than 3000people under your watch.
It doesn't surprise me either the events that occured afterwards, I mean it's happened before in this country and the cold war resulting afterwards. Without a doubt in my mind that what happened then and now will happen again and again. People have very short memories and spend very little time thinking about the memories they do have except in a very self orientated way. What does amaze me is the way everything is being handled from the Patriot Act to Health Care to Border Security. Bush has and had some fairly competant people under him. 9-11 should have United this country but instead within 8 months at least what I experienced I saw an Administration pull out all the stops on partisan politics and begin manipulating people mentally in a way that gives me pause to wonder about the validity of anything short of some agenda starting with the 2000 election which was clearly manipulated. It's not a very bright agenda and it's coming back to bite the Administration in the ass. I still really wonder... much like the omission about the information going into Iraq... how much information was glossed over before 9-11. Propaganda is clearly running rampant now with the progress of the war... the events of Abu Grab... Gunatanamo Bay... FBI abusing the Patriot Act... the CIA's overseas torture chambers.
This is what leads me to suspect the Bush Administration in a lot of respects... more really of incompetance but still...

Meh. I don't care much for democracy, and that is a large reason why. Majority rule doesn't always work, because the majority isn't always right...

Why did he get re-elected?
