You know what I find odd. The people in power need to think they are accountable to someone greater than themselves so that they feel they are accountable. The underlying feeling for me is that if they didn't feel they had a God that they or the people they rule would have no need for morals, respect, or any form of respect for life. I think it is really aimed at themselves but that just me.

It really leads me to question the direction of our world is going in!

I’ll break my response down but not change it to see of that helps.

This is the same ol’ same ol’ crap. It is the same crappy ideas that fundamental theist have when they say, “Atheist does not have morals because they are against God”. So fundamental atheist and fundamental theist are full of crap.

What the heck does he mean when he says that we should not be held accountable to a greater good? Policemen, firemen, and other public officials are, and should be, held to a greater good. I was in a leadership role most of my life and I explained to the new guys that “we are here playing a part … act it”.

My underlying feeling is that this guy is ok with people doing what ever they want no matter who it affects. This line of thinking just does not work for a working society.

The USA, in the name of diversification, is tearing itself apart.

The Obama comment was just a nothing comment in reply to your nothing comment about the Huckster.

NEW STUFF

I thought at first you did not know about the multicultural diversification trends going on in the US.

Please, if there is a point that needs more clarification let me know. I need a reference point, I am sorry for that.
All very interesting but still largely disjointed and incomprehensible.

However, your central point seems to be that the US is tearing itself apart in the interest of "diversification" (actually, the more correct term is "diversity".

Based on my experience, that's just another way of saying that at some arbitrary point between the landing of the Mayflower at Plymouth Rock and the present, the subset of "real Americans" was distinguished from everyone else in the country and somehow lays claim to exclusive rights and privileges. Very convenient as long as the ethnic, nationalistic, religious and/or socio-economic group you happen to belong to is included.

Such parochial and self-centered views accomplish nothing more than delaying the arrival of a point in time when all Americans can celebrate their differences as opposed to accentuating them negatively, thus fomenting unity and collaboration vs. duplicity and conflict.[/QUOTE

OCD PD

I ruled out youth because of your age.
I can not be sure because it is the computer.
What med’s did/does your doctor recommend?

I agree 100% with your last thoughts, although that was not the primary idea. Your response is also a cookie cutter ultra-moralist response associated with some types of personality disorders.
