| sovereignty is a royal myth, not a myth. It gives you status as a royal. What would you ever want with that?

| sovereignty... Sovereignty. It's root is reign. To reign is to believe that there is no one to challenge your throne. The throne is a reign of sovereignty. What is the true nerd that would think this word up is the true nerdy way to think about the throne. So what if you can't understand the root of the word which means to have dominion or authority. The throne would have the rule over the people with a strong reign of life that is born from the royalty that is truely alive.
As a Jew, I don't think that there should be a Jerusalem with a throne at the head of it.

| I think it all started way back when with the Monroe Doctrine. We took it upon ourselves to police the Western Hemisphere when Europe was the dominant power in the world. It's not like that anymore, but we still cling to our role as policemen. It gives us something to do. I think many politicians are too scared to focus on this countries problems because they think they are insurmountable.

Why do they not just concentrate on their own country, trying to make the democracy better than it is. If a country can function without democracy, it DOESN'T need it, now does it? If a country is functioning alright without democracy, and can do so for a long period of time, who gives the right for US to come in and just change their government and then say something like It wasn't working out for them and such.
Your views? | What countries have we invaded that didn't need our help?

| I think what Waulrus might have been trying to say is countries that just ended up being worse off then they already were. I can't think of any that didn't truly need some help, but several were worse after we came.

| Well, maybe not so much Vietnam, but Somalia and Iraq are what first come into my head. I'd have to research to find more I think.

| I believe in example. If democracy demonstrates and continues to demonstrate itself to be the best possible form of government other countries will adopt it. It is that simple. The US did it in the face of a Global Power and won. If we try to convert by the sword we will only pile up bodies and loose minds to alternatives.
