Default Bill Moyers on Jeremiah Wright

http://www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/05022008/watch.html

Thought this was some enlightened commentary on how the current presidential candidates relate to the religious preachers and how the media relates to them both. Also contained some good racial commentary on how black and white preachers are perceived by the media.

Interesting for a glance, but they were softballs indeed.

I'm still waiting for the "you're taking it out of context" crowd to put some of his statements INTO context...

They were definitely softball questions. You can say what you want about conservative talk radio, fox news et. al. but they at least smashed to pieces the illusion of "objective reporting and journalism" in the mainstream media. Of course they are now "mainstream media" and their claim to be objective ("fair and balanced" etc.) is also an illusion. Nevertheless, one cannot deny that they provided a useful and necessary education to the american public in this regard.
