Alright , let me see if I can't convince you otherwise.

1st commandment: "Thou shalt have no other gods before me."
This one goes against freedom of religion.

2nd commandment: "Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain." Now, in England, I here they have a blasphemy law but I am not aware of one in the U.S. So I think this is another commandment our federal government saw fit to ignore.

3rd commandment: "Remember thou keep the Sabbath Day." To the best of my knowledge this was never required either. I do remember something along the line of "Congress shall pass no law hindering the ability of a man to make a living." This seems to indicate working on the sabbath was considered a right.

4th commandment: "Honor thy Father and thy Mother." OK, this one is necessary for children to follow but adults were never required by the law to follow this one.

5th commandment: "Thou shalt not kill." Here's one that is a law.

6th commandment: "Thou shalt not commit adultery." Pretty sure this is legal to do as well.

7th commandment: "Thou shalt not steal." Another law.

8th commandment: "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor." Again another law.

9th commandment: "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife." While this is good advice it was never made a law as far as I know.

10th commandment: "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's goods." Actually, I think we encourage this one. It is good in a capitalist society.

I think this country only follows three of the ten commandments: don't kill, don't steal and no purgery. The rest are unconstitutional. Of course, there is more than one set of ten commandments in the bible and they vary depending on the translation.

My brother has lived and worked in the States for some years; is married to an American; and is currently in the process of becoming a citizen. I have several other relatives in the U.S. as well. Yes, we do study a bit about your country in school, both in optional courses like American History and in current events discussions. And we are your neighbours, after all, and can learn a great deal about you just from observing you and listening to the U.S. news networks.

I've also read several Thomas Paine essays, on my own initiative.

I find it incredibly sad that you think the onus is upon the minority to simply "get over it" when a majority forces their opinions upon them. In my opinion, that's abusive. Even if a 'minority' is one person, that one person has a right to be protected from everyone else.

Government should confine itself to issues relating to civil society -- Public safety, infrastructure, and the like. Religion has a large enough realm without annexing the town square, too.

OK. Yall are a very smart bunch. I'll concede that. But, in the same sence, you are all very dumb. Are you so comfortable in your choice to shun GOD, that you would be willing to risk your eternal soul and spend eternity in hell? That is not a chance I'm willing to take. The bible tels what hell is like. I'm sure you've all read at some point in your lives, about that. You've chosen to believe Satan's biggest lie of all... that niether he nor God even exists. You are damning yourselves to spend an eternity in hell where you will have to endure great torment forever.
GOD is a merciful GOD. He gives you free will to do as you please with your lifetime. But, you all know the consequences of your decisions and actions. As they used to say when I was in the Marine Corps, there aint no atheists in the foxhole. You ALL will bow before the LORD one day. I only hope and pray that yall find salvation before it'sa too late for you.

Why don't you educate me then. From what I understand, is that agnostic means that you question the existence of. Agnostics neither believe or disbelieve. Kinda like sitting on the fence. Atheists simply don't believe in anything at all. Is that it? Let me know. Either way, both are going to hell unless you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. That's it. Cut & dried. No other way to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Sorry Folks. That includes ALL other "religions". Because they are "false religions". Every one MUST come before JESUS.

WOW! Buzz-o I cannot believe you are really that much of a religious bigot/religious zealot ...... "cut & dried" is the only way to heaven ... un-friggin-believable!All other religions are going to hell .... and people wonder why in this so called age of enlightenment we are having wars ....

go smite them Buzz-o, get your sabre of truth and put them to the sword if they don't convert to Jesus .... but what happens to the kids buzz-o? Do we get to send the 10 year olds to hell .... 'cause you know they aren't the little innocent babies that get into purgatory ... they can make choices .... so at what age do we get to send the Muslim, Jewish, Mormon, etc, kids to purgatory and the rest to hell ..... I really need this information fairly quickly as my Jewish friends need to convert ....

did you go to a tent revival meeting last night to get this fired up on a Saturday morning? Did the holy ghost visit you and tell you to go forth and offend half of the world's population .... you do know that bigoted Christians are our numbered in the world right? That most Christians wouldn't condemn other religions quite so vehemently ...... maybe you're just constipated ... go have a cup of coffee and purge ... maybe then you will have a little more Christian charity and not tell the half of the world's population that they are going to hell ....

best wishes for a better afternoon ....
