we could, it would probally be more like a colalition of regions with their own modifications on laws becuse of different cultures and such. kinda like a more powerfull UN. It could be good, or Bad, just like all goverments, it depends on how it operates and is set up ext. im not sure what is the best democratic system, it probally depends on the times and people it is the goverment of. a ceremonial monarch sounds like someone that just takes away a bunch of money.

You ask very good questions. I feel that the future of earthly society will revolve around independent self sustaining clusters of humanity. The earths resouces (oil, water etc.) will be equitably shared by all. There will be enough resources for all because the profit motive will have been removed from earths resources thus freeing up technological innovations that conserve earths resources. The profit motive of consumption currently disallows these innovations. There will be free and fair market economies as opposed to the legal yet unethical cutthroat competitive practices that are used to drive fledgling companies out of business. All business accounting and salaries will be transparent. Price tags will come with the companies cost as well as your price. There will be a world government but it will be more of a world resource distribution network than it is a government. The clusters will have their own local governments. In other the worlds government will solely be involved with infrastructure maintenance and resource distribution. Ceremonial monarchs will still be around to promote cultural identity and diversity

No. Unlike the present U.S. administration, I recognize that there are profound elemental differences in societies and cultures that have developed over thousands of years, and that any attempt to instantaneously imprint them with the U.S. version of christianity or democracy is doomed to failure. The only situation which I can even begin to conceive would lead to a "world government" would be a superpower so super that no other country would stand a chance of prevailing against it. Fortunately, the last attempt on the part of any country to achieve such world dominence utterly failed with the death of Adolph Hitler in a bunker somewhere beneath Berlin.

The only universal system of government that could possibly be "good", given the available choices, would be run by a benevolent despot, i.e. some hypothetically honest, incorruptible individual who has the best interest of the masses at heart, and who acts in that best interest, eschewing any opportunities for self-aggrandizement that would conflict with that ideal. If you know of someone who even begins to qualify, I will welcome your submission. Given the present mechanisms for achieving high government office in any nation I'm aware of, I'm out of ideas.

I think the present system in the U.S. is as good as any other form of government. The form of a government is less important than the laws it passes and whether it acts in the best interest of its people.

Neither good nor bad inherently. If having one brings in more tourist money than it costs the government, it's probably a good thing. On the other hand, I don't see a perpetual celebration of such a stilted class system as particularly desirable in a democracy.

I hope not. Government rules should be supported over the cultural background of a specific geographic place, a good rule on US may be a bad one on Germany and vice-versa. Since there's no Universal Truth or an Universal Culture we rather have those who understands a local culture to set the laws on such place, furthermore we can't set laws over people when that people can't understand them.

As stated above. This turns out to be the same question.

None of the above, Democracy is a bad form of state, unfortunately I don't know any one better at the time also.
But since Democracy can easily change into Dictatorship, which turns out to be even worse than Democracy, I would go for the system that can prevent more efficiently the absolute power to be achieved by somebody, but even so can't find much difference among those samples you gave on this subject.

As Skepticologist said, if it attracts tourists' money may be a good thing. Otherwise is a pathetic exhibition of power - I recall on Portugal back on the beginning of the XX Century the people was starved while the King keeps organizing the best parties and ceremonies on Europe.

I think a Fascist Olygarchy is miles ahead as the best system of government, one that would actually work.

In answer to your questions:

1. Never, the world must always remain divided, even in the time of Alexander there were worlds not under his rule.

2. It's never going to happen but if it did, it would collapse so fast. If I had to choose I'd choose a Fascist Democracy, operating the world you'd have to have certain areas governed differently and best way would be to have the HIGH CLASS SELECTION vote on law changes, not the dirt poor of course.

3. Selective democracy, like back in Rome, not every single person should be allowed to vote.

4. It's always bad, you can never have one icon for an empire, which a world government would essentially be, obviously you can but it hardly ever works out, one man ruling a nation might have some stability for some time but a world government monarch? No way in hell, racism would require only a non-human symbol and that symbol would never be agreed upon by everybody.

Until this afternoon I was thinking the same... until the postman come with my USA's IRS declaration. What got me totally surprised! I'd never even be to US and get an US Tax ID along with a 4 USD bill to pay (luckily Euro is now so high that such means about 3 Eur). - still trying to figure however where I got income from US.
