What was the overlying reason for the Invasion of Iraq though: Intel Error about WMD? attacking terrorism before it attacks us again? oil? Revenge? Correcting Daddy Bush's mistake?

Now I can't imagine all the experts that a President has at his command could NOT have predicted what happened in Iraq. I mean I saw it coming since Bush first announced he was going to invade. The heat would be turned up there against Israel cause here comes their biggest supporters: The Americans! There is a larger reason for attacking Iraq. If America was JUST fighting terrorism they would have set up a front in Afghanistan and pursued their interests from there with stealth and diplomacy. No matter what America did then or will do now the build up of terrorists will build and build. It's all about Power!

I agree. Its all about power. And Israel and US will never cut their ties, not because there similar, but because the bankers that america owes all of its debt to want to keep america serving Iraeli interests.
I think they are having a rough time keeping the US dollar competative with the euro, and that was one of the reasons for going after control of iraqs oil.

I think the goals for invading iraq were
1) destabilize it - so it is less of a threat to Israel, and less help to palestine
2) control the oil - for power, and making more of the worlds oil supply trade for US$ (making the usd$ more powerful)
3) have a bit of land there - probably just for a presence in the region

Hmmm

1) I don't quite agree with that. Syria at the time posed more of a threat than Iraq did at the time. Iraq was being constantly monitored by the UN and their inspections. The first Gulf War basically shattered any military front they could really put up against Israel. Israel would have annihilated Iraq barring any outside intervention by another country.

2) Yeah I can go for that.

3) They had Afghanistan legitimately and with world wide approval. Iraq was a thorn in G W Bush's side since daddy Intelligently didn't go straight to Bagdad. Maybe he had the forsight to see that what is happening to us now is what would have happened then. I heard a lot about the making Saddam a martyr and such but I was kinda skeptical about propaganda just like I am now.

The boundary dispute between Israel and Palestine is frustrating. Both sides have equal claim to their religious sites. It's too bad we can't just declare it an international zone and let them form their separate countries around it.

Did anyone read about Iran's new offer for negotiations? I think that if the U.S. doesn't accept we are making a HUGE mistake.
