Religious people believe they have the truth. What are they searching for?
| I think lauraclay is getting at that everyone is searching for the truth and some people simply take their truth on faith because everything else takes to much effort. Religion is that faith and agnostics here have chosen something else. Is that about right?

| Yes An-Jel, that's what I meant, lol.
And many people say that reality is just a consensus of perception. We could make reality anything we wanted. True, there are lots of situations where I can't prove this, but maybe I'm just not smart enough. In truth, reality is only what you believe.

| So, if I have three apples, but I believe with all my heart that I really only have two, I only have two?

| Sure. Who defines what 'three' and 'two' are? You do.

| No. Wrong. 'Two' and 'three' aren't things that need to be defined; they are simple measures of reality. No matter how different an idea of 'two' you have, if there are three apples there there are three apples. Your concept of 'two' is irrelevant.

this is not a world of "whatever you think goes". Reality is unchanging. it is our perception that changes. The example you just gave is flawed. Language is a relative thing, and you did not appear to take that factor into account.
what's in a name? Is a rose any less sweet, if it is called by some other label?
