nah don't be bitter, hostile, or any other words towards the guys or the gals ... show them the Christian love .... most people around here listen to logic, learned knowledge and turn away from people that only have a belief and nothing to back it up ... just an observation ..

I got a time out when I was first on forum .... after following threads and not posting on them I found out how little I really knew .... I just had a lot of passion in the beginning (and sometimes I still do) when someone was just trying to slam us with words .... mostly I stick around to learn and provide comedic relief on rare occasion .... a bit of levity when the geniuses get too serious ....

sometimes I know when to shut the hell up and let others go at it on a more brainiac level than I possess ...

Your claim is unfounded, not based on any evidence or reported experience, and is designed to instill fear and force an adherence to your religion by playing on a person's desire for self preservation. It can not be construed otherwise. As such, it's a personal assault.

Obviously, you don't have the power to "damn" anyone. Your god is separate from you and you do not allow yourself this power (nor do most people that you damn).

I propose that living in fear of the punishment of hell and in desire for the rewards of heaven IS HELL and that you are already damned (if this is truly your stance). I think I'm also well founded in both the christian and buddhist traditions for making such a stance. It places your experience of life off in some other place and not at the moment you're living now. It makes you walk through life as a zombie.

Also, please don't think that personal respect has anything to do with respect for your ideas.

Respect for ideas is only proportional to the amount of assault they have endured and survived in my book. This makes christian doctrines about as flimsy as the paper they're written on as far as I'm concerned. The last 1600 years have been a free reign for christian doctrines accompanied by a militant theocratic system that enforced it by shear military force.

I hope that everyone here will show you respect for your person. I hope that everyone here will meet your ideas with spears and daggers and torches in hand. Keep the two separate and you shouldn't feel hurt. I know this is generally hard for most people who consider them selves to be religious in the way you seem to be religious. If you feel personally attacked, there's a little red bordered triangle in the bottom left of the post that you can click on.

This will flag the post and email me and the other moderators. If there is genuinely a personal attack, we will take action against the offending user.

OK Og,

I hope I don't get accused of being "preachy" again. Here goes. I am a Christian. I don't know and don't really want to know any other way. I accept JESUS as my Lord and Saviour. That's it. That's all it will ever be for me. I can't get into the philosophical aspect of it. Not that I won't. But I am comfortable with it. I am at complete peace with it.
As for my previous comments , "little baby girl" thing... I lost my temper over what she said to me. I was wrong in losing my temper, I admit. But, in the same sense, I've seen no scolding of the young lady for her remarks hurled at me. Not the kind of language I'm used to seeing come from a child, directed at an adult. Yes, I know she's only a child. That is my point.
Seems like a bit of a double standard there, Og. I don't know if she talks to her parents that way and gets away with it. Non of my business. But, I will not put up with it from any person.
She sees you all do it and figures, it must be OK for her to do it. It's that thing about being on the computer I guess. We all become ten foot tall and bullet proof. No thing's gonna happen to you through the screen. Well, I've received my share of slings and arrows on this site. I guess I finally got mad enough to strike back and she just happened to be the target. I believe I already apologized for that. It was on this thread or another one. Can't remember exactly where now. But, just in case, I apologize to any and all of which I may have said some offensive things. How can I remedy the situation? I'm Sorry.
