There is a difference between an assault on an idea and an assault on a person. We support and advocate violent assaults on ideas. Personally, I prefer it when beliefs are NOT respected and stances are ALWAYS put to the fire of skepticism and criticism. If you feel you are being assaulted as a person (i.e. someone calling names or threatening you - and we'll let the hell threat slide), please report the post and it WILL be dealt with.

I regret if you have felt assaulted personally. If you hold that assaulting ideas is "close-minded," you are absolutely mistaken. Put your "truth" to the fire. If it is truly truth, it will remain. Stop identifying with your ideas. You get burnt along with the false elements of your ideology if you do that.

I'm curious how you think people arrive at truth if it's not through an assault on hypotheses? Are you a proponent of pure revelation as the only source of truth? If so, how do you determine what is revealed and what is gibberish or purely manipulative human constructs? There's got to be some point in there where you, personally, discern.

Bottom line: If you invest your identity in your beliefs, you will take any assault on them as a personal offense. You will respond with condemnations on the PERSONS delivering the assaults (i.e. "you're going to hell."). This is a classic sign of a brainwashed individual. I recommend you step back and let your pristine hypothesis stand on its own feet. If it is so true, it will be impervious to the skeptics assault.

If, however, your hypothesis only lives in darkness where no light can be shined, then I submit that it's a horrific stance to take and will only cause damage to the human population.

I agree. A truth that cannot stand up to poking and prodding is not truth and is not worth preserving.

In response to you ALL. I really have not tried to be rude and offensive. My question is, how can someone show you proof of something unless you're right there next to them to point things out? As I said before, I'm not as well versed in the bible and how it's read as maybe Abel or some of you. I wasn't damning anyone here. Just siting the consequences of peoples actions. I think it is yall who misunderstood me. I only tried to answer questions the only way I knew how and I got trashed for it. That's why I said I wouldn't bring up the "R" word.

It may be quite possible that you're right. It IS the ugly side of me. I got a bit angry at the things both you and Kay said and I lashed out in the same inappropriate way. NOT very Christian of me, is it? I do apologize to ALL of whom I have offended. I'll try to keep my own anger in check in the future. This is all I can do. Hope it's satisfactory.
