Default Kinds of marriage

Currently we've mainly 3 kinds of marriage still available, each of with different duties and rights for man and woman. A short description of those follows:

Traditional

Kind: Religious marriage
Divorce: Absent
Assets: Common but man held high priority on its management.
Kids expected: Many

Man's duties are to keep the incoming and feed the family.
Woman's duties goes for the household and children. Isn't meant to work outside.

Modern

Kind: Civil or Religious marriage
Divorce: Possible
Assets: Common upon marriage forward (backward assets, such as heritage remains separated)
Kids expected: 1 or 2

Man's duties remains as traditional but on this kind woman can help on the incoming by working outside also man helps on household and with children. Thus normally she wages less than an average man.

Contemporaneous

Kind: Living together; occasionally married on civilian or religious
Divorce: Easy and common
Assets: Separated, just few common, such as house mortgage or so.
Kids expected: none to pretty few

No special duties to either part. Both are meant to share same duties.

What of this kinds of marriage you find more suitable?

Modern marriage with regards to marital duties and such, but we have a strong traditional view towards divorce and the commitment of what we have accepted.

Well, crap, I voted before reading the first post and only had read the title. I thought you were talking about what kind of ceremony... So, having now sufficiently read the post, change mine to modern.

Modern makes more sense to me. As a woman, I see traditional as one that holds a woman back from her aspirations and rights. Plus I don't think all marriages should be religious especially if the couples aren't. The contemporaneous seems to have lost all together the the reverence of marriage.

How can a union of two non religious people be religious? I mean I am a Satanist. I wouldn't want a religious marriage.

I am also Atheist. I have a feeling she meant religious as in the traditional sense. How exactly would me as an Atheist have a religious marriage?

Relationships and marriages are a matter of what fits the couple. My parents eloped and married in a hasty civil service 58 years ago. It worked. Our ceremony was much, much more religious. So far, so good.

What a confusion! You believe and worship Devil but you do not believe there's a God (or any supernatural being for that matters). Therefore if there isn't a God it can't be a Devil also, since they are antagonist characters for which one can't exist without the other.
Atheist and Satanist is then impossible.

It's only confusing if you don't have a thorough knowledge of Satanism and its different sects.
Traditional Satanists believe in the Devil and in God by default.
Modern Satanists are Atheist so they don't believe and or worship any deity of any sort.

You could just ask next time if you are unsure about Satanism. I'd be more than happy to help you.
