Each mother word, suffix and prefix has a specific meaning and can not be used otherwise under the danger of communication lost.
Of course, mother words will always mean exactly what they meant when they were first coined hundreds of years ago. After all, they can't be expected to change to keep up with philosophical and intellectual developments.

Given the foregoing, I'm certain you'll be more than happy to propose a new word, free of those pesky traditional and historical constraints, for what has been so erroneously referred to as modern satanism.

And after you coin that new word, please send me a PM with your email address, home. mobile and/or satellite, fax and pager numbers so that when I get myself into such confusing discussions in the future, I can call you for the true meaning of any word that may be in contention.

I'm not a modern/traditional or whatever Satanist, so I guess they're the ones who are entitled to forge a new word or recycle an existing one which can be suitable to their ideology.

Now if they want to keep living with experiences such:

- I'm a Satanist.
- HOLY JESUS! Please do not kill me or drink my blood!

up to them...

That is true for Modern Satanist I believe. Now Traditional Satanists go further back and deal with rituals and beliefs very different then us. I usually like to explain my faith as I am an Atheist in belief. And I live that belief out on a daily basis through the philosophy of Satanism.

This is a great example of how keeping an open mind can help us understand each other better. I don't see how you can call someone a freak without knowing anything about them or their beliefs.
Thank you. You totally get it. Actually the word is used for that very reason. It tends to weed out the looky loos you know? You have to really be interested in it with an open mind to get something back from it.

As for SirArthur, his ignorance has forced me to take the Satanic way of saying: You are not worth my explanation.

Also as to not derail this thread, I think there was a thread about Satanism. I would be more than happy to answer any questions no matter how silly you think it is. I enjoy discussing this with people.

Then I'll stop here, but thank you very much again for the links and the response. I'll keep looking into all of it.
