As a complete agnostic who has more faith in science than I have in anything else, I think that chances are by far in favor of most of science (the big bang) being correct. Of course, as originally stated, the question is the meaning of life for a SECULARIST. I'd imagine he/you doesn't want to be told to follow a religion, again.
The way I look at it, which I can't think of any argument to, is that we all came here by amazingly small odds. The odds of the big bang, of the world being habitable, of you being born. Looking at it non-religiously, this is a tiny, tiny chance.
What am I getting to? Well, science tells me that by pure coincidence I happened to exist. No meaning of any sort, just coincidence. Perhaps the reason why no one has found a secular meaning of life is because there isn't one.
So does that mean that life is pointless? In a sense. But as I said before, we exist by chance, and I for one, am happy to exist. I can read. I can listen to music. I can be happy. Hence, why most people frown on suicide. So, for me the "meaning of life" is to be happy. But more importantly perhaps, is to help others do so and save lives so more people can exist and have this opportunity we all are lucky enough to have. The greatest happiness, for the greatest amount of people. I think that is the true meaning of life.
*Of course, as an agnostic, I understand that there can be, and there probably is a whole lot more than I don't know, and could change everything. But I like at least having some direction from what I do know
