| The 7 deadly sins are one of the few religeos virtues I agree with. I like to take the word sin out and call them "7 human instincts that can be counterproductive to our well being".
Regardless of what you call them and how you view them (with divine faith or human logic), they are things that cause us problems. It just depends on the extent that we act on them that determines the severity of the reprocussions.
I guess what I'm saying is that they're impulses that we should try to controll for our own well being in our current state of existence. If you want to throw a higher being into it, more power to you.

| Tsk, tsk ... there you go again with the sin thing jaej.
Sin by definition is quite clear. Sin by interpritation is where things get complicated. I do agree with what I think you are getting at - who dictates what is sinful, correct?
If that's the case, I have no idea. I know there are plenty of people who feel free to deem what they see fit as sinful.

They can be a great strength to strive forward in some instances to. They are simply extremes in this format but can be great power if one uses them write. I mean without the Internet we all wouldn't be talking at the moment unless we had some International convention. If sloth didn't take into account we would all be gathering once or twice a year to debate. As I understand it the World Wide Web was strictly used between corporate folk to communicate between each other. You can hate all the 7 sins but they inspire us also to create!

| I wouldn't say I hate them. I find them to be quite fascinating and could discuss them for hours on end. And I agree, they can most certainly be a positive driving force as well. It is a very dynamic concept.
As for insperation to create - have you seen the movie "Seven"? Great flick. Kevin Spacey's "John Doe" character blew my mind.

I think the idea that was more impressive than the finale was Spacey keeping the druggy pedophile alive for so long.
The ten commandments seem to almost go against everything that gives a person power over their environment; to enhance it or detract from it. It's a choice for me how you wish to play the game of life. The 7 Deadly sins follow in this suit.
