but the HIV virus only entered the human population fairly recently due to our encroachment on the habitat of its natural carriers, non-human primates (and that initial jump was probably related to people hunting monkeys for food and had nothing to do with sex).
You missed my entire point, which was that AIDS is not intrinsicaly related to homosexuality. You might as well say that its God's judgement for eating monkeys.

Incidently, just to clear up that last post, its not from people eating monkey meat that AIDS probably made its jump into the human population, but from the actual hunting and butchering, which naturaly involved humans being exposed to the monkeys' blood and body fluids. The HIV virus is destroyed by the stomach's acids.

For those of you who argue that homosexuality is "against nature", check this out - a very long list of mammals, birds, and insects who display homosexual tendencies in their populations.

List of animals displaying homosexual behavior - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A good example of people not sticking to Gods game plan can be found in the AIDS explosion, he warned gays not to do it but they ignored him and paid with their lives, wrecking their miraculous God-given immune system and spreading it into the non-gay population to boot.
Incidentally,in discussions with gays,I'm amazed how many of them say the AIDS epidemic is nothing to do with them!
The timeline says otherwise;AIDS was unheard of throughout thousands of years of human history, then exploded right about the time the Gay Rights Movement thing began 25 years ago. That certainly is no coincidence, heck it was even called the Gay Plague because they started it!
Now they're trying to pass the blame on to monkeys which is ridiculous because monkeys don't hang in gay bars,or mens toilets, they don't cruise Clapham Common, they don't go on Gay Parades and they don't read gay mags or watch gay videos.. ;)
Hey, a gay chap sat next to me on a park bench last year so I got up quick and walked off, I suppose I should be glad it wasn't a bleddy gorilla that sat next to me..

Yes, monkeys are to blame. The truth of the matter, not your bigotry, explain that the disease has nothing to do with homosexual sex, and much more to do with scientific research in Africa. (AIDS origin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

The stigma that it is a homosexual thing stems from the fact that in the ealy 80's, most of the cases were in homosexual communities. Well, yes. When you have a community that does not practice safe sex, regardless if they're homosexual or not, you will have this problem. Amish community beware! Second, the homosexual communities of LA and San Francisco had a major drug epidemic in the early 80's as well, allowing the disease to spread even faster through shared needles.

So while the notion that it is a strictly homosexual disease, there is much more evidence destroying said stigma. See CDC: AIDS Cases By Exposure Category: Estimated Number of AIDS Cases, through 2004. You will see that less than 50% of the AIDS cases to date are due to homosexual sex alone.

Yes but that's because it spread from the gay community into the hetero population by accident.
The fact remains, AIDS began in the gay community, that's why it was labelled The Gay Plague .. :)

This guy in the Bible might have AIDS but he repents and asks God's forgiveness, no doubt this passage is to encourage all gays to do the same -
Psalm 38
"O Lord , do not rebuke me in your anger or discipline me in your wrath.
For your arrows have pierced me, and your hand has come down upon me.
Because of your wrath there is no health in my body; my bones have no soundness because of my sin.
My guilt has overwhelmed me like a burden too heavy to bear My wounds fester and are loathsome because of my sinful folly.
I am bowed down and brought very low; all day long I go about mourning.
My back is filled with searing pain, there is no health in my body. I am feeble and utterly crushed; I groan in anguish of heart.
All my longings lie open before you, O Lord; my sighing is not hidden from you. My heart pounds, my strength fails me; even the light has gone from my eyes.
My friends and companions avoid me because of my wounds; my neighbors stay far away.
Those who seek my life set their traps, those who would harm me talk of my ruin, all day long they plot deception.
I am like a deaf man, who cannot hear, like a mute, who cannot open his mouth; I have become like a man who does not hear, whose mouth can offer no reply.
I wait for you, O Lord you will answer, O Lord my God. For I said, "Do not let them gloat or exalt themselves over me when my foot slips."
For I am about to fall, and my pain is ever with me. I confess my iniquity, I am troubled by my sin.
Many are those who are my vigorous enemies; those who hate me without reason are numerous.
Those who repay my good with evil slander me when I pursue what is good. O Lord, do not forsake me, be not far from me,
O my God.Come quickly to help me, O Lord my Savior"

If you would read the referenced article, you would see that it did NOT start in the gay community and EVEN IF IT DID, its ability to spread has nothing to do with gay sex, but either any form of sex or drug use. It didn't start with the gay community, it isn't unique to the gay community and it is NOT the gay communities fault.

And somehow, for some reason, I doubt that you can logically tie the referenced Psalm as pertaining to the homosexual community.

Oh, I'm not saying that man + man is the best way to produce children. That's just silly. However, I think that two individuals who love each other should have the right to love each other physically as well.

I remember as a kid seeing two men kiss each other on the lips in the TV series 'The Untouchables' back in the 60's and it literally made me feel sick in every fibre of my being, that's because as a hetero male I'm programmed to automatically be repelled by it, I just couldn't help it.
(The guys weren't gay, they were Mafia hoodlums and it was some sort of ritualistic 'kiss of death', but it disgusted me anyway)
