Any currently registered jewish members yet? I'd love to hear what people active in the jewish faith believe about Jesus.

Sorry, I'm not Jewish, but I was watching a program on TV a while ago that had an interview with a Jewish man. He talked about the Jewish beliefs a bit, about how they believe Christians have mistakenly taken Jesus as a messenger from God (I think there's a better word, but I don't know it right now). The guy mentioned that if Judgment Day occurs and God tells them Christians had it right, then the Jews will convert.

yeah but on what basis? I can give verse upon verse of why He is God. I just wanted a counterpoint from the Torah as to why he isn't God.

They don't accept the new testament... I don't know why they don't accept it... Its just the descendants of those who didn't believe Jesus was the messiah. *shrug*

Ok, I'm confused. I thought Christians believed Jesus was the SON of God, not God in human form. Because that sounds like they are one in the same, rather than 2 separate entities... one human and one supernatural.

Christians beleive that he was God in human form. Son of God is just a name, not his true nature.

I think Jesus was a philosopher and he had good traits, but he was just that a philosopher.

Glory B, they say that "the father, son, and the holy ghost" are God. But this does differ from differ christian sects. Ya know? I am not sure if I am making any sense I am not good at explaining things. But the way I was raised, the trinity"father, son..." were all in one, the same.

Basically, traditional trinitarians believe that God has one nature, but three persons (as opposed to the incarnate Jesus, who was "God in the Flesh" and who had two natures--fully human and fully divine--but was still one person). They believe that Jesus is the Son of the Father, but that he has been his Son from all eternity. That was one of the problems with Arius, because he said that Jesus was divine but was still a created being; the trinitarians disagreed and said that Jesus was the Son as far as his relationship with the other persons of the Trinity went, but that he was nonetheless God, coequal with the Father, and that "there was never a time when he was not". The Holy Spirit would be the third person in the trinity, also co-equal and co-eternal with God the Father and God the Son. The Nicene Creed (written at the Council of Nicea and added to at the Council of Constantinople) tried to clarify this, though there were still arguments after that.

Regarding Jewish fellows, you could always go to a chat program like Paltalk and go to a Jewish room. When I went in to those rooms, they seemed quite ready to give answers about stuff like Jesus fulfilling or not fulfilling Old Testament prophecy.
