Ok, let's look a lust as a desire for sex. Why is that wrong?

Prove to me it's not. It's a desire for sex, hmmm. Well I can tell you why it's bad. First, lust mostly deals with unmarried couples. That usually leads to babies or sexually transmitted diseases for one. It also violates the behavior that the society deems as tolerable.

Your TV spews sex at you. That may be true, but guess what? Society thinks bad of people once they start going around and having sex. They will call them lustful and some may stay away. People will not choose to trust you because you lack self control. People don't like people without self control. That's just the truth.

Lust is more than wanting something. It's wanting something to the point of obsession. Laura, what you said earlier 'whats wrong with a little lust?' nothing really, but the statement is an oxymoron. Too much of anything is a bad thing, so the point of saying lust is a deadly sin is pretty much do everything in moderation.

I've gotta ask, why the protected? It's ok if people take measure to protect their own self from diseases/babies, but if they don't it's not?

Sex is prevelant on tv today because for the most part we live in a progressive, evolving society. What we now consider commonplace would have been heresay 25 years ago (I'd say a large part of it is thanks to Seinfeld...amazing show). In short, sex is on tv because people like it, and talking publicly about it is less taboo than it used to be. That doesn't mean a promiscuous life is being condoned by the majority of society.

The majority of what girls where is promiscuous. It's accepted. It's the majority.
If you're responsible about sex, I do not see the problems with it if you're not married.

Yes!! The style is accepted, no doubt. The implication, however, which is being sexually promiscuous, is not condoned by the majority. It may be accepted, but those are two different things.

I learn in health class that I should abstain from sex until I am married because it is healthier. I find nothing in class about not dressing in a certain way so I don't invite sexual advances. Or something like that.

lol...trust me i dont need to wait, you'd be suprised how many teens girls my age look at a guy, in fact a played a sport at a christian school, you should have heard those girls talking..............but any way, I agree with roman, its lack of self control, and even more, when you lust how easy is it to turn your head from that nice looking guy standing there....How easy will it be when your dating someone, if your so used to "looking" not to look? and then your not being true, or even marriage...when your married if you spent time lusting how easy is it going to be not to lust after other men?
Lust can lead to even harder to beat things.
Knowing that someone looks good, and lusting are two different things i want you to realize that.....But its when you focus on that good looking person, and things start going through your mind....and things may not, but you really shouldnt be looking any way...and another thing, does it bother you when a guy looks at you like your a peice of meat? or just keeps looking, and looking, and makes you feel uncomfortable well guess what he's prolly doing?
Lusting. And Women do the same thing to guys sometimes i dont know if guys take it as some women do as a "not good" thing or not, but whn your looking that man down, what are you doing to him that those men were doing to you? Lusting...and Lustin also takes away from learning about someone.
Some pleasing to the eye, not so much to the soul, some not pleasing to the eyes but they are pleasing to the soul, and some have both.
But lusting makes you look totaly past who a pperson is, instead of looking at that your looking AT WHAT a person is.

You may not take what i say seriously becuz im a teen, but i could go on for hours. If sex is a game it'll make you the loser.
To women a kiss or that^ is something of HIM expressing love to you..him showing you that he really cares......usually not the case on the otherside.
and if your not married lets say you do that^ and you used all the protection, and guess what happens to the lady, she is soon to be a mommy, and guess what the soon to be daddy does? runs........He's not ready...Hes still young, there are still many fish in the sea,,,,he didnt think that one night would get you pregnant. and your hurt after you gave him that peice of you, and now he left.

I did a paper on this kinda thing for school heres some facts:

Condoms have a 84-87% effectiveness. This is good unless your part of the unlucky 15% . Don’t think your anything special you could become part of the 15% if your not careful! So basically its like this 15 out of a hundred people will get pregnant.

Condoms:

How effective are they against STDs?
HIV:
80% so 20 out of a hundred people USING condoms will get HIV

Birth control pill:
Effectiveness aprx 87%
So 13 girls out of a hundred will get pregnant.
STD protection 0%

Also, if he or she will do it with you what makes you think they havent or wont do it to someone else? Unless you dont care, dont think that your gonna be his/her love of their life, just becuz.

its a desire for sex.....so tell me, when people lust its not just after one man/woman...so basically your lusting or wanting to have sex with more than one person.......that doesnt sound to smart if you ask me.
