OK, I watched it and it wasn't to bad.
Thanks Dunno....
I watched it too
It was interesting (perhaps not surprising) that you and I picked up on completely different aspects of the video .... I was more interested in the current characters debating.... whereas your reply was more theological.

Nevertheless from a theological point of view there was (at least for me) a surprisingly good correlation of the two versions, Christian and Muslim. If I were of either faith I would be looking for common ground rather than stressing the differences?

thanks again

So are you of any faith?
This being a religious board of sorts I am in a mindset of Religions so of course I would expect that is where the discussion would end up

I don't really care if there is common ground between Islam and Christianity
That makes no difference to me

Also Why do they show the Twin Towers in Flames in the Begining?

Is that Islams Finest Hour?

1 .... I'm a devout agnostic
2 .... I'm a little surprised given the power of the New Testament doctrines?
3 .... Probably some insensitive agnostic editor put it in to get the TV ratings up. I'm sure Lecter we will give you a hard time over that. In the same tone what would be Christianity's finest hour, the Crusades, or eradication of the Cathars; I'm sure we could pick some other high points?

...trespasses, cheek, love etc?

It has nothing to do with Islam or Jesus

Not sure what you mean, but yes the twin towers had nothing to to do with the documentary's subject matter. I think Lecter would argue that the twin towers was more to do with politics than Islam. No self respecting Muslim would have done such a thing???

Apparently you missed the part where I said Lecter and I were just playing with the troll MAYBE. I asked him to post that as a response while we were talking on MSN. I have this thing where when he gets annoyed I ask if he is raising his fist in the air and screaming alalalalalala ala Apu from The Simpsons.

To clarify: It was a joke.

Islam doesn't say the bodies were switched. It only says they neither killed nor crucified Jesus. And that it only appeared to them as if that happened.
so was it like an Elijah thing, where he is simply taken into heaven without dying?
Hmm I guess, but I'm not sure.

Here's the verse that talks about that, so everyone can read it and you be the judge

[3:55](And remember) when Allah said: O Jesus! Lo! I am gathering thee and causing thee to ascend unto Me, and am cleansing thee of those who disbelieve and am setting those who follow thee above those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection. Then unto Me ye will (all) return, and I shall judge between you as to that wherein ye used to differ.

Oh and here's the verse about the crucifixion:

[4:157]And because of their saying: We slew the Messiah Jesus son of Mary, Allah's messenger They slew him not nor crucified, but it appeared so unto them; and lo! those who disagree concerning it are in doubt thereof; they have no knowledge thereof save pursuit of a conjecture ; they slew him not for certain,

Why do you quote the Bible to me as if I am a Christian? I thought you said you werent one and I have never said what I believe. Are you making an assumption about me?

Apparently you forgot to apologise for the Death to America statement because all you said you were joking about was multiple marriages and goats unless I missed it in my Blind fearful rage
So with that being said anything goes for Jokes then
