I am a little confused. Which one of you is Muslim? Which one just studies it? Which one actually lives in a Muslim country? Which one actually speaks Arabic as their first language?

The word you typed doesn't mean anything, unless you're saying '(we) own you' so i believe it's you who is owned.

And since you've sank down to that level of 2nd graders, I'll leave this thread having said all I wanted to say.

Believe what you want to believe my friend, but I'd suggest learning Arabic from a professional before you say anything about this topic again.

Peace.

We would have expected that an Arabic Muslim would be more cognizant of his scriptures.

This is just another example that demonstrates otherwise...

Are there others out there that want to discuss why the Koran informs us that Jesus Christ created the Universe...?

I would give my right arm for someone to just post in some sort of respectful manner to someone eles'e faith. Are you people capable of that?

The word rubbish is not a curse word. Islamic and christian sects do not respect people who do not belong to their respective faiths. Therefore, as an agnostic, I am threatened. No, I am not capable of respecting the lies of your religious faiths.

Jacob
I have no faith, religious or otherwise. I am an Atheist. Keep up kid!

...then you should have had no problem with my original statement in the first place.

I've read that Jesus according Muslims was the son of God then I read he isn't to. I read he defeats the AntiChrist yet anyone just against the word is an antichrist. Why do people come here if we are the AntiChrist?

Apple Pie has a lot of time to waste, he has been trolling internet forums with this issue for over a year. Apparently he is a Christian who lives a fantasy of believing that his 'translation' (dare I call it that) of the Qur'an is more authoritative than every Muslim-Arab scholar past and present. Just as Muslims can interpret the Bible in their own way, he has the right to interpret the Qur'an how he wants. Sure, he has a dictionary and knows how to paste Arabic text in predominantly English-speaking forums in an attempt to look like a genuine authority. I just hope people see that he is nothing more than a fraud.

Islamic belief:
Muslims believe that there is only one eternal God and that both Jesus and Muhammad are human prophets created by that God. God has no offspring, nor parents and God created everything that exists.

Let's see what proper translations render the arabic of verse 2:116 as:

Quote:
2:116 They say, "Allah has taken a son." Exalted is He! Rather, to Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth. All are devoutly obedient to Him,

2:116 They say: "Allah hath begotten a son" :Glory be to Him.-Nay, to Him belongs all that is in the heavens and on earth: everything renders worship to Him.

2:116 And they say: Allah hath taken unto Himself a son. Be He glorified! Nay, but whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth is His. All are subservient unto Him.

(Taken from: http://www.islambasics.com/view.php?bkID=120&chapter=2 and
http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/quran/002.qmt.html)

Want a translation down to the phrases? Download this pdf, http://emuslim.com/wordforword/juz1/01-19-27pdf.pdf and go to the top of page 23
The verse is referring to a third party, "They (say)", who is neither God, nor Muhammad or his followers. According to the verse, this third party is claiming that God has a son, therefore it's not hard to determine that verse is talking about the Christians. 2:116 is essentially saying "Nay" to the Christian belief.

Apple Pie's deceit:
Quote:

Observe that the above ayah confirms that Jesus is the Son.
Apple Pie is a fiddler, he fiddled with the part that I have put in bold.

Apple Pie wants everyone to believe that the verse is agreeing with the Christian belief by effectively translating a negative connotation as positive. In fact the Apple Pie's English rendition is so bad that it's extremely ambiguous as to what the 'His' in "much more certainly His" refers to. Is it, His Son, His Self or His heavens and earth. Who knows, or cares, since that is a result of shuffling words about.

Apple Pie also messed up his edit by putting the rest of the verse after "And they said:" in quotes, rather than ending the quote at "taken (a) Son", which would suggest that the Qur'an is merely quoting a bigger piece of Christian belief, but not affirming it like he wants us to think.

Just to add:
Now going back to this third party. Look at the verses concerning the Christians, Jews and polytheists, there are many such before 2:116

Quote:
2:113: The Jews say "The Christians have nothing [true] to stand on," and the Christians say, "The Jews have nothing to stand on," although they [both] recite the Scripture. Thus the polytheists speak the same as their words. But Allah will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ.

2:111. And they say, "None will enter Paradise except one who is a Jew or a Christian." That is [merely] their wishful thinking, Say, "Produce your proof, if you should be truthful."

2:103. And if they had believed and feared Allah, then the reward from Allah would have been [far] better, if they only knew.
It seems that the entire chapter is full of verses that point out the mistakes of the Jews, Christians and polytheists (of course thats the whole point of Qur'an, to correct the people's erring belief about God). Apple Pie wants us to think that so much of the chapter is full of verses of the format "They say... but this is incorrect", yet 2:116 is a mysterious exception!

I don't need to go on to the next verses as it is enough to say he changes the odd word here and there to fiddle with the meaning and one can easily go to the links I've quoted from for proper translations. Apart from being a liar, Apple Pie's main problem is that his translation only returns THREE results on Google when using a portion of the text... and all link to his own postings. I think he needs to optimize that before us sheep start believing him.
