| Brand new and here to research! That's right, just like the title says I'm brand, spanking new so first let me get the formalities out of the way.
*stands up and clears throat*
Hi, my name's Inks and I'm an alco... oh wait wrong forum ^_~ I'm Inks and I'm a graphics student in the UK.
*sits back down*
There we go
And yes, just like the title says, I'm here to do some research, get some thoughts and at the same time, maybe try and find out my own mind. But that's not worked for the last 21 years so let's hold out too much hope on that score :P
So, it's nice to meet y'all! |

But then, I guess it's being able to successfully complete a more.. abstract project that determines whether you're a good designer or not ^^

| We had to take one of several possible religions including Christianity, Hinduism, some others that I can't remember right now (memory like a sieve right now) and of course Agnosticism. The aim of the brief is to 'reposition' the religion (though I'm still figuring out just how you 'resposition' a religion exactly' and essentially 'brand' it to create a... you know what.. it's going to be easier to just copy paste the section isn't it? *facepalm* 'The purpose of this project is to equip you with some core graphic design competencies in logo and brand creation before translating this groundwork into a viable, believable, creative online presence.
Select one from the list below and create a new identity, brand language framework and online presence:
Re-branding a Belief – Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Humanism, Agnosticism or Atheism.
There has been a decline in churchgoing in the UK, in response to a world where we have strong beliefs but have little time for religion. Your task is to reposition a religion or belief for a broad audience of 18-55 year olds.'
There we go, I think that's the part that explains it. Consdering it's almost stupidly late here, it's very possibly incoherent. And if there's any mention of purple hippos in there, it's not mine. Honest.

| A Journalist Honest? Sensationalist? Yellow in it's Journalism... Ethics. I suppose one must be taught Ethics to remember them. Here is an Agnostic at the moment against Republicans.
Cool... do what must be done.

| Well we could use a new logo. I did my best but I'm no graphics artist.

Honest. | I see what your professor is asking you to do ... interesting project ... you will have plenty of rhetoric to sift thru here for your project .... read some of the religious threads and even a couple of the water cooler threads .... find a basic view point of what you want to your project religion to reflect and then go for it.
New religion for the busy believer ... drive thru sacraments ... drive thru confessionals ... hell let's even go for catholic confessional on line ... forgive me father for I have sinned it's been two days since I last emailed you my confession ..... the priest e mails you back two days later because he's been busy because there so few priest now that all the pedophile priests have been excommunicated ... and last night's bingo/casino night .... so just say five hail mary's and go forth and sin no more ...... I like that ..... email confessional ...... get with christ in a chat room. Oh I could have fun with that project!!!!
Welcome and enjoy your stay .... good luck with your project!

| i think i can help you with the christian portion at least, i belong to an online christian ministry service (link in my signature), and about a third of our 300 or so members are graphics artists (myself included), and i think you may find a lot of usefull suggestions on our forums.
