Default Agnostic From India

Hi Guys,

I'm Sunil from India - the land of deluxe religiousness. I am an agnostic and that's why I am here.

Is God around? Who knows? Who cares? Just so long you do good all the time.. err, make that most of the time.

Be seeing you guys around. Take care.

Hey An-Jel, Naah,

I don''t fake my being an agnostic. I'm proud of the fact that I am one. Religion is okay so far it gives you peace of mind and does not make you a fanatic. But look at the world - we have religious fanatics everywhere and more damaging is the fact that people take religion so seriously, they place cubs on individual freedom! That sucks. It's better to be away from anything that tries to control you. I'm happy a being an agnostic.

suniltinani, I think Angel was hoping you were faking and telling your local people that you ARE religious, especially the beautiful Indian women.

In any case I look forward to seeing your point of view on Agnosticism. Nice to let people see it's not just American infidels that are Agnostic

Xactly George! I'm with you all the way though suniltinani... if they can't take it no sense in faking it!

Hey George, Of course, I understood what Anjel meant.

What do you mean your point on agnosticism. There's no point to be made there from my side atleast. I have switched off religion in my life and I have switched off atheism too. Why? Because I don't care.

yes, faking would necessarily be a part of agnosticism in India. I'm an agnostic, but i haven't discussed it at length with my parents, who therefore believe i'm an athiest as i don't pray, visit temples, etc.

And i think it's not necessary to fake to impress the "beautiful ladies" of India. Healthy arguments are always desirable.

Cheers

Hrm.. from what I've read, agnosticism in a hindu environment is some sort of psychological problem. I didn't know that hinduism made any real supernatural claims other than reincarnation. I thought the pantheon of gods was a reflection of elements of your psyche and that the ultimate realization (7th cakra) was about eliminating your concept of god as an idol.

Is that not an accurate depiction? I didn't know it was a question of theism/atheism in hinduism.
