PLEASE NOTE: I hardly expect everyone to come here and write a book about themselves. A simple hi my name is so and so and little about yourself is fine. For me the fact that I am the site owner I figured warrants a little more 
About Me,
My name is George and I am the owner and administrator of AgnosticForums.com. I am an agnostic by nearly every definition of the word that matters to me. I am not anti-God though I do tend to be anti-religion (at times). But don't paint a picture of me based on that statement. Though I tend to disagree with a lot of the ideals and practices of religion I follow a lot of the others like the basic moral code and just plain living a good life. In my opinion, were it not for religion it is highly unlikely we'd be able to enjoy the modern society and civilizations we so cherish today. Most would agree that the majority of our laws no matter what country you are from are rooted in religious beliefs. I don't live my life worrying about getting into heaven or hell based on rules written by men with no way of proving whether or not they are correct or that there even is a heaven or hell to get into. In fact one of my favorite quotes over the years (of which I have never been able to track down the original source for credit) is "how can there be a heaven when there is no guarantee that your loved ones will be there?". I'm anti-religious more in terms of my disdain for the smugness of "some" theists who believe it is their duty to save you and that all other religions but theirs is wrong. Religious oppression and discrimitation is an ugly thing to watch. Mention to your strongly christian friends for example that you are an atheist or agnostic and watch how fast you become an outcast. But in any case this thread is supposed to be about me so let's get back to that
. I'm 31, I live in the United States and I love my country which I have served both in uniform and in kakis for over 13 years. I am a self proclaimed serial site creator. Meaning I can't stop making websites about topics that interest me and I'm happy to say that teh income I derive from my web ventures will soon be the sole source of income for me and my family. I have 2 daughters and a lovely fiance and no regrets in life whatsoever, I was born in New York city but raised by a family rooted in the south so I was brought up baptist. That all changed when I joined the Army at 18 and became free of those influences. Free thought is a beautiful thing

Why AF?
I established this site because I felt the need for a place on the net where like minded (and not so like minded) people could gather to discuss the most influential phenomenon in all recorded history and beyond. The belief in the existance of a supreme being or deity that deserves our worship and obedience. There are plenty scattered discussions all over the net with debates and clashes between atheists and theists. But we agnostics somehow seem to always be caught in the middle and disregarded as "the ones who can't make up their minds". Hopefully this open forum will help resolve that issue. Agnosticism is not a label given to us by theists. It is a word that describes my beliefs perfectly and I believe quite a few others as well.
I will close this thread now because I don't want it to turn into a discussion about any of my beliefs mentioned above or this site. That's what the rest of the forums are for. I hope to see you all around the forums and I'm glad you came.
