Default Hello good sirs and madams

Just signed up here
I don't usually make an introductory post at a new forum but for this one I felt obligated to for some reason

A little about myself:
22 years young
College graduate with a BS in Computer Information Systems
I now do computer programming and database management for a financial company in new york
unfortunately raised roman catholic
fortunately never bought into it, consider myself an Agnostic and a free thinker
I believe in evolution
I love America but hate most of its politicians

I hope to learn some useful knowledge from this forums members as well as hopefully sharing some useful knowledge with you as well

Hi timmyg
welcome and have fun here.
I notice you love America; that's nice. What about the rest of the world?
all the best.

well w3schools could be the best place to learn the basics of web programming, especially HTML and CSS, which are essential
once u know them I would move onto PHP for scripting, and MySQL for databases. there's also ASP and AJAX which seem to be getting popular but i don't know much about them
i use w3schools sometimes and there are other sites you can find on google for tutorials and information, but i've found nothing to be better than buying a book or downloading an ebook on a subject

don't worry i got nothin but love for canada as well, however i don't know much about it, there seems to be a lot of different culture up there depending on where you are
but i've never traveled off the east coast of america
well i once went on a trip to canada's niagara falls (i know, typical american)
recently i've been thinking of planning a trip to Montreal
growing up my parents had money but not really enough for our family of five to take exotic vacations to different countries around the world
now that i'm on my own i hope to someday travel to Italy, Spain, Amsterdam, and Japan.
I'm especially interested in Japan and Japanese culture, I even took 'Japanese I' in college.

Hi

Have a chat with Hobbes .... he's currently studying in Japan at the moment.
More or less in your field.

All the best

actually people keep saying that javascript is going to die and go away but I still see it used often
it couldn't hurt to learn it
but i don't think there is much you can do with javascript, that you couldn't do with css and php
