Ok skept.
Try and think of my beliefs like this skept.
I will use the beach; I hope you have been there.
Try and picture sitting on the beach. North East coast for me.
The sounds of children, people, birds, waves, wind, and boats. Do not forget the occasional whistle. The sights; look around and picture what you see. If it is like my beach, we’ll have to squint. Feel the dried salt water on your skin, the half wet bathing suite, grit in your hair, ears, teeth, and of course the crotch. Feel the wind blown sand. The sun, feel the sun skept.
That would be a description of my higher power.
I am not a writer so that will have to do.
Now; pick up a handful of sand.
Brush it all of until you have a few specs of sand stuck to your hand.
Look at one grain of sand. We need our glasses now.
It holds more than all the religions of the world. |
I agree with susequent posts that it's a nice allusion but I'm at a bit of a loss as to what it really means.
Your post to which I initially reacted included the following, to which I'll respond point by point:

To my possibly overly defensive and reactive mind, that alludes to the free will mumbo jumbo that Christians fall back on when confronted with the fact that the Bible says that most of us are going to hell because God made us the way we are, i.e. complete ****ups (the asterisks are the techo-editor's; I used the real dirty word) as far as he's concerned.

I have not even a remote clue as to what this means. Whether you intended to say a loin will act like a loin, or a lion will act like a lion, I'm still clueless. What am I missing?

So if, by some mechanism apparently known only to you, we let God flourish, what would be different in how we act on a daily basis and how would things be different if we did?

I'm assuming you mean to stop evil, right? So if he gave us "every tool" to stop evil, why aren't things in infinitely better shape than they are?
