| Bonjour, Aloha, Hola, Hello And "hello" in other languages too. :P
Well hello there people.
I'm David. Username and signature say it all. Until/unless God/Jesus/Christianity/WHATEVER are proven by SCIENCE, no no, I won't believe.
Anyway, it's very strange. I only recently embraced the fact that I'm - agnostic is it? - and told my family this. My dad's entire side of the family are Strong Lutheran Christians, so my Dad didn't take it well. Nothing he can do about it, but he wants to put me in contact via email with my godfather (an ex pastor by the way) and reminded me that I was baptized as an infant.
Anyhow, I was (s)trolling through a google search of religious forums to debate in, and I came across this one. Seemed interesting and ironic, so I joined up, and well, here I am!

| Ironic that I found this forum only a few days after confessing my agnosticism to my family. Although slightly less ironic I suppose since I was searching for religious forums to debate in.
Though to be honest, I was searching for christian forums mostly to simply say this in: Prove it.
Heh. I found this, slightly more interesting forum instead.

Second, being baptized makes you a lifelong slave to faith? Didn't know it worked that way.

I told my dad - and I think in his own way he's accepted it at last - that be that as it may, I am still agnostic, and that that's the way that I am. I require proof of everything before I believe it. Religion, creationism, etc. etc. All things that I require more proof to believe and accept.

| From one David to another, welcome.
I tend to agree with the need for scientific proof.

Heh. I found this, slightly more interesting forum instead. | Welcome Proveit! Imo doing so insuch forums is satisfying when you first do it;when I did it months back(and I only speak for myself) I found out that I actually had 'something to prove', when asking "Prove it or my atheism is justified." Now, I am simply content to know that my atheism in regard to knowledge of God is thoroughly justified and I don't have to bring it up always as if to prove somehting. I hope you come to a greater understanding here as an skeptic. Good to have you on board. |
