Hi all. Over the past year i've shifted my thinking from Xian to deist. And since my concept of "god" is so, er, loose now i think i'd fit in well here. I gradually had less and less i could relate to in the forums i used to be in so it was time to make a switch.
I'm a former fundamentalist christian and I've considered the gamut of alternative religions myself. I don't know where you're coming down in terms of xian and deism, but I'll predict that if you apply common sense and rationalism in your search, you'll find that none of the world's religions offer anything but intellectual pablum. But, I'll leave it to you to find that out for yourself. Good luck!

Thanks. I'm leaning towards agnostic, which is why I've joined this forum. My concept of "god" is so vague it could just mean a yet undiscovered force or principle. At any rate, if there is a god I don't think that it is sentient, which makes it kind of a moot point for me.
It sounds like your notion of god is itself a silent enigma. It seems like a good view of the divine to me. It gives you plenty of space for discovering what makes sense in your personal experience.
I'm new also. This place seems much calmer and less argumentative than some of the atheist boards I've visited.
