I'm a Muslim from Australia and I'm having some problems with my belief system - particularly the ultra skeptic philosophy which is supposed to explain cause and effects as well as the whole Evolution v Creationism thingo.

I think I will find some answers here. You guys seem like a logical and balanced bunch. Not too many "religion is the cause of all evil and God is the spaghetti monster" type arguments, which are really no different to the "atheists eat their babies and marry their mothers" type theistic arguments <_<

If there's one thing I am dissappointed by, (as I usually am when visting these sites) it's that many of the arguments used against theism are really only arguments against christianity. And when I visit sites critical of Islam, they're filled with nothing but illogical, irrational, ahistoric and hate - filled people with no legitimate claims. And it's annoying, because Islam is very prone to criticism if only one would bother to study it properly. Gahr!

I think that's because the majority of us are from the US so christianity is the only religion we've been exposed very much to. I know personally I only know one muslim, and I've never studied anything about it so I couldn't know where to start. You should talk to sisterX, our resident muslim. I'm sure that'd be interesting

Yes, I have to admit I tuned in to this thread b/c of the "hook" .. you "got me" also!! I think you will find some stimulating reading and all the debate you could ever want. There are several Muslims on forum ... most conservative but at least one hard core muslim from Pakistan .... you'll have plenty of opportunity to say .... Garh!!!!

Yeah, I say '' Gahr '' all the time. Be it because of athesits, agnostics, muslims, christians, whatever, they all suck in someway. So I'll just stick to being a muslim, I guess.
