ISLAMIC TERRORISM IN IRAN

The 2007 Zahedan bombings occurred from 14-17 February in Zahedan, Sistan-Baluchestan Province, Iran.

Jundallah, a militant organization affiliated with Al-Qaeda, claimed responsibility for the attack.

The first bombing occurred at 6:30 a.m. on February 14 when a car filled with explosives stopped in front of a bus carrying Revolutionary Guards in Ahmabad district. The car exploded, killing 11 and injuring 31 members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps.

ISLAMIC TERRORISM IN JORDAN--2

The 2005 Amman bombings were a series of coordinated bomb attacks on three hotels in Amman, Jordan on November 9, 2005. Al-Qaeda in Iraq claimed responsibility for the attacks which killed 60 people and injured 115 others. The explosions, at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, the Radisson SAS Hotel, and the Days Inn, started at around 20:50 local time (18:50 UTC) at the Grand Hyatt.

ISLAMIC TERRORISM IN PAKISTAN--3

The 4 September 2007 Rawalpindi bombings refer to the incident on September 4, 2007 in which suicide bombers attacked a bus carrying Government workers exploded in a commercial district of Rawalpindi. It is estimated to have killed 25 people and injured 68.

Quran-3:85, “If anyone desires a religion other than Islam (submission to Allah), never will it be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter He will be in the ranks of those who have lost (All spiritual good).”

So much for freedom of choice in religion.

ISLAMIC TERRORISM IN SAUDI ARABIA -- 2

The 2004 Yanbu attack was an attack by gunmen against Westerners on May 1, 2004, in Yanbu' al Bahr, Saudi Arabia.

At least four militants used security passes to access a local petrochemical plant. Once on the grounds of the facility, they stormed the offices of the Texas-based ABB Lummus and killed seven people. Two were Americans, two were British, one was Australian and one was a Saudi National Guard member. A Canadian worker died May 15 of his wounds.

ASSASSINATION OF RAI MUSICIAN CHEB HASNI BY ISLAMIC TERRORISTS

Cheb Hasni (born Hasni Chekroun on February 1, 1968 in Oran, Algeria, died September 29, 1994) was a performer of Algerian Raï music. He is popular across North Africa, having reached the height of his career in the late 1980s and early 1990s. He was the son of a welder and grew up in a working class family where he was one of seven children. Hasni is most well known for his love songs, but he also dealt with taboo subjects such as divorce and alcohol.

Hasni's first significant performance as a singer occurred when he attended a local wedding party, where the group led by the famous Naoui brothers was playing. Impressed by his voice, they invited him to perform on stage at a well-known cabaret, La Guinguette.

The second major launching point in Hasni's career came shortly afterwards when a producer asked him to record with Raï performer Chaba Zahouania. During the summer of 1987 the pair recorded a provocative song by Algerian standards, "Beraka" ("The Shack"), gaining them much attention. The subjects of his songs were controversial and made the song popular with Algerian youth, who contributed to the song's estimated sales of one million copies. The success of "Beraka" made Hasni famous, and a controversial subject with both critics and Islamic fundamentalists already concerned over the popularity of the Raï genre. Another major hit was "El Visa" a song about migration, which sold approximately 250,000 cassettes.

Hasni's fame and controversial songs led to his receiving death threats from Islamic fundamentalist extremists. His primary residence remained in Oran, even though his family lived in the then safer environment of France. On September 29, 1994, he was the first raï musician to be murdered, outside his parents' home in the Gambetta district of Oran.

ASSASSINATION OF KABYLE SINGER Lounès Matoub BY ISLAMIC TERRORISTS

Lounès Matoub (January 24, 1956 – June 25, 1998) was a famous Kabyle singer who was a prominent advocate of the Berber cause and secularism in Algeria throughout his life.

During the civil war, which began in 1992, the Islamist Armed Islamic Group (GIA) added his name to a hit list of artists and intellectuals. Matoub remained in Algeria. On 25 September 1994 he was abducted. He was held for two weeks in a GIA mountain stronghold and condemned to death. He was released following a large public demonstration in which his supporters threatened "total war" on the Islamists.

On 25 June 1998 at approximately 12:30 pm local time, Matoub's car was stopped at a roadblock while he was driving along a mountainous road in eastern Algeria. The car was fired upon by masked gunmen, killing Matoub and wounding his three female passengers.

The GIA, an Islamic terrorist organisation, claimed responsibility for the assassination of Lounes Matoub.

Within hours, news of Matoub's murder had spread throughout Kabylie and thousands of angry mourners gathered around the hospital where his body was taken. The crowd shouted "Pouvoir, Assassin" ("Government, Assassins"). A week of violent riots followed his death [4]. Young demonstrators clashed with riot police and attacked government property. On 28 June 1998 tens of thousands people attended his burial in front of his house in his native village.

ASSASSINATION OF FILM DIRECTOR THEO VAN GOGH BY ISLAMIC TERRORISTS

Theo van Gogh (July 23, 1957–November 2, 2004) was a Dutch film director, television producer, publicist and actor. He was a descendant of Theo van Gogh, the brother of painter Vincent van Gogh. He was murdered by Islamist Mohammed Bouyeri in 2004.

Working from a script written by Ayaan Hirsi Ali, a muslim feminist and political writer, van Gogh created the 10-minute movie Submission. The movie deals with the topic of violence against women in Islamic societies; telling the stories of four abused Muslim women.

After the movie was released in 2004, both van Gogh and Hirsi Ali received death threats. Van Gogh did not take these very seriously and refused any protection, reportedly telling Ayaan Hirsi Ali: "Who would want to kill the village idiot?"

Mohammed Bouyeri assassinated van Gogh in the early morning of Tuesday November 2, 2004, in Amsterdam, in front of the Amsterdam East borough office (stadsdeelkantoor) on the corner of the Linnaeusstraat and Tweede Oosterparkstraat, while he was bicycling to work. He shot him eight times with an HS 2000 handgun, and Van Gogh died on the spot. Bouyeri then cut van Gogh's throat, nearly decapitating him, and stabbed him in the chest. Two knives were left implanted in his torso, one attaching a five-page note to his body. The note (Text) threatened Western governments, Jews and Ayaan Hirsi Ali (who went into hiding).

ASSASSINATION OF FEMINIST WRITER KONCA KURIS BY ISLAMIC TERRORISTS

Konca Kuris (1960–1998) was a 38 year old Turkish feminist writer whose body was found in Konya, Turkey on the 20th of July 1999 after having disappeared in 1998. She was a former member of the Turkish Hizbollah but denounced it and criticised dogmatic interpretations of the Koran. A video tape of her torture was allegedly found. The Turkish Hizbollah claimed responsibility for her abduction, torture and death with a statement "Konca Kuris, an advocate of secularism and an enemy of Islam, is kidnapped and interrogated by Hizbollah fighters. She has led to confusion and poisoned the Muslims with her ideas. This is why she deserved death."

Sisters and brothers of America,

It fills my heart with joy unspeakable to rise in response to the warm and cordial welcome which you have given us. I thank you in the name of the most ancient order of monks in the world; I thank you in the name of the mother of religions; and I thank you in the name of the millions and millions of Hindu people of all classes and sects.

My thanks also , to some of the speakers on this platform who, referring to the delegates from the Orient, have told you that these men from far-off nations may well claim the honour of bearing to different lands the idea of toleration. I am proud to belong to a religion which has taught the world both tolerance and universal acceptance.We believe not only in universal toleration, but we accept all religions as true. I am proud to belong to a nation which has sheltered the persecuted of all religions and all nations of the earth. I am proud to tell you that we have gathered in our bosom the purest remnant of the Israelites,who came to southern India and took refuge with us in the very year in which their holy temple was shattered to pieces by Roman tyranny. I am proud to belong to the religion which has sheltered and is still fostering the remnant of the grand Zoroastrian nation. I will quote to you, brethren, a few lines from a hymn which I remember to have repeated from my earliest boyhood, which is every day repeated by millions of human beings: 'As the different streams having their sources in different places all mingle their water in the sea, so, O Lord, the different paths which men take through different tendencies , various though they appear, crooked or straight, all lead to Thee.'

The present convention , which is one of the most august assemblies ever held, is in itself a vindication, a declaration to the world, of the wonderful doctrine preached in the Gita: 'Whosoever comes to Me,through whatsoever form, I reach him; all men are struggling through paths which in the end lead to Me.' Sectarianism , bigotry , and its horrible descendant, fanaticism, have long possessed this beautiful earth. They have filled the earth with violence, drenched it often and often with human blood, destroyed civilization, and sent whole nations to despair. Had it not been for these horrible demons, human society would be far more advanced than it is now. But their time is come; and I fervently hope that the bell that tolled this morning in honour of this convention may be the death-knell of all fanaticism , of all persecutions with the sword or with the pen, and of all uncharitable feelings between persons wending their way to the same goal."

Swami Vivekananda uttered this above speech on 11 September 1893 in the Parliament of Religions held in Chicago. No sooner had he addressed the assembly as 'Sisters and Brothers of America' than a great wave of enthusiasm went through the audience. They rose to their feet with shouts of applause, as if they had gone mad. Everyone was cheering , cheering and cheering. The Swami was bewildered . For two full minutes he attempted to speak, but the wild enthusiasm of the audience would not allow it. Others had addressed them in the customary manner but Swami Vivekananda had touched the deepest chord of their heart by discarding formality and stressing the kinship of all people. After the applause subsided the Swami made a brief speech.

When Vivekananda had finished and sat down, exhausted with emotion, there was another tremondous ovation. The next day all the papers lionized him as the greatest figure and the best speaker of the Parliament. The unknown young monk became known through out the United States of America and the world. 'His life-size portraits were posted on the roadside in Chicago with his name written beneath it, and many showed reverence to it with bowed heads.'

This above speech made by Swami Vivekananda on 11 September 1893 and subsequent speeches as well, catapulted him to world wide fame. And in his first speech itself he condemned bigotry, fanaticism and persecution and consequent bloodshed which according to him had greatly hampered human civilization and culture.

And it was 108 years later in this very day 11 September, that Islamic terrorists jammed civilian aeroplanes on the World Trade Centre and Pentagon and crashed an another civilian plane to the ground killing more than 3000 people. 9\11 shocked the world greatly and made the whole world understand with shock and pain the great danger that islamic terrorism poses to humanity and the world.
