There is no way anyone would get confused about this, God says hundreds of times He is One there is no one like Him. The point one becomes a muslim is when one says ' I testify that there is no god but Allah and muhamed is His messenger' this statement is the foundation of Islam. "We" was commonly used by kings in Europe, also by Polish kings. Don't know where it came from, but I suspect it was to ephasize that a king represents the whole nation and expresses its opinions and will.

By the way the idea of The Holy Trinity is another masterpiece of theological close reasoning. It all comes down to : There's one God in 3 parts, yet the 3 parts are one God.
