Doubt, is Satan's primary weapon. And when we fill our hearts with doubt, we become his weapon.
| So you're saying that Doubting Thomas, the disciple of christ, was under the influence of satan when he asked to put his fingers in the holes in christ's hands (as related in the gospel of john)? Also, that when christ accepted his doubt and showed him the holes and gave evidence of his nature that both thomas was under the influence of satan and that jesus was placating satan?
It seems odd. Jesus' general approach to satan was generally of the "be gone satan" or "get behind me" or to cast out the demons or "do not tempt the lord your god!".
How do you reconcile thomas' actions and jesus' response with your claims about doubt as satan's tool?
Sound's like an untenable position you've got yourself supporting Faith. You continue to bury your talents in the sand along with your head out of fear. Satan has truly convinced you to cower in a corner of your mind and to distrust all of the glory that god has created for you.
It's a sad state of affairs. And when the master returns, you'll find yourself cast out because you've squandered the gifts you've been given.

| Og;
I have grown to value your opinion and mind in a lot of areas of this board. You have a lot of imagination and you are capable of linking things from religious text that is relevant and thought provoking. However, I think you have been distracted with this poster "faith". Ignore him. You cast your pearls before a swine. He has already trampled what you have written and turned on you. He is simply unwilling to seek the truth, he is a fanatic.
You can not assume that everyone is capable of what you have accomplished with your mind. Some people are built differently and they can not be won over with reason.
Ignore "Faith" and he will get bored and move on to something else, hopefully off of this board.

| Oh but what a boring place to be without different opinions. I quite enjoy her talk.

| Without doubt, faith has no opinion. He has a dogmatic agenda and he's just a box that repeats it. Without doubt, it's not possible for people with his attitude to truly be a vessel for their cause.
I cast my pearls out there, not for faith, but mainly for the formation of my own thoughts (most of the time).

| Even Jesus' desciples were capable of being influence by Satan to doubt. And I remember Jesus saying to Thomas, "אתה מאמין לי כי אתה רואה אותי? שמח הם שמאמינים בלי לראות אותי ".
"You believe me because you see me? Happy are those who believe without seeing me".
If you doubt, you will never understand the things God does. With the power of faith, anything can be done. With the weakness of doubt, you are incapable of ever understanding God and entering the Kingdom of heaven. One of the things God requires we do to enter heaven, is believe his son died on the cross for our sins, and was raised to life three days later. That is why Jesus said, "You believe me because you see me? Happy are those who believe without seeing me". Mark 9:33-37
33And he came to Capernaum: and being in the house he asked them, What was it that ye disputed among yourselves by the way?
34But they held their peace: for by the way they had disputed among themselves, who should be the greatest.
35And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.
36And he took a child, and set him in the midst of them: and when he had taken him in his arms, he said unto them,
37Whosoever shall receive one of such children in my name, receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me.
Keep this in mind...
Mark 9:42-48 42And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.
43And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
44Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
45And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
46Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
47And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:
48Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. 45Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
46And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
47And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
48And ye are witnesses of these things. |

26A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!" 27Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe."
28Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!" | So you're saying that jesus was placating satan? Bending to the force of satan's weapon by providing evidence?

| Reference your quote please. And you didn't answer my question. And your quote basically boils down to "ignorance is bliss"...
The bottom line seems to be that you continue to cower in a corner of your mind trusting only this text (bible) that was put in front of you when you were at some receptive point in life. You ignore your sense and the functionality of your analytical mind and cast complete trust into one translation of a text that is 2000 years out of context.
You can't get around this fact. Your arguments have no weight because you put no effort other than superficial lip service into their dissemination.
